How to adjust bobbin tension
Be absolutely sure that the problem lies with the bobbin tension. 99.9% of tension problems lie in the "upper tension." If upper thread is creating a birdsnest under the fabric, the upper tension is too loose. If the bobbin tension is pulling to the top of the fabric, the upper tension is too tight.
One should adjust bobbin tension only when one is very familiar with a sewing machine. Before changing anything, be sure to mark the position of the bobbin tension adjustment screw first. That way, you will be able to return it to the original position if you need to. When making bobbin tension adjustments, move the bobbin screw only 1/8 of a turn at a time. Test before making any more adjustments. Repeat, test, repeat, test...

How do I get my machine to start sewing and stop beeping?
try rethreading the machine--use EVERY thread guide
make sure the needle is inserted up into the needle holder and turned the right direction
make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly into the bobbin case and turned the right direction
clean under the needle plate and in the bobbin area for loose thread or lint
make sure thread has not come off the thread take up lever
also the jam could have caused the machine to jump time and needs a timing or a adjustment
Is there a reset button on my sewing machine?
BUT other things MIGHT be engaged. For instance, I don't know the procedure for buttonholes, but is one of the dials or levers engaged for that? Is your needle all the way up when you try to select a stitch? Do you have a button or dial for a twin needle, and if so, is THAT selected? When something like this happens, you need to start from scratch to eliminate the possible causes one by one. Make sure that you have your user's manual; if you don't have it, you can download it free from the Singer support site, and USE IT--it's your best friend!
What settings should I use to make a buttonhole
You can download the user' s manual free at the Singer support site. The settings vary depending on your machine, but you should ALWAYS use your user's manual when you have a question like this.
My feed dogs are not catching the fabric.
Likely there is a lever, button, or such to raise and lower the feed dogs. Check all the different buttons ones you have, usually on the right side of the machine -maybe at the base. Often they are not marked.
If possible you might Goodle the machine make and model and there may be a video on U tube to show specifically how to do it.

This machine is supposed to be able to have twin needles. Where do I insert the second needle.
Twin needle assemblies have to be purchased! When you buy one, you will see that it has ONE needle shaft that goes into the needle clamp, and two needles attached to that. Take a look at the drawing that is next to the top button over the needle shaft area, and it has a rough picture of a twin needle. In other words, it's a TYPE of needle, like a ball point needle, leather needle, jeans needle, etc.
How do i adjust the stitch length
Go to the Singer Sewing Machine site (singerco). Select Support and Resources at the top, and they have a page where you can enter your model number and download the user's manual free. It will show you how to do that and many other things. Refer to it often!
