I suggest have the machine checked to see what's wrong with it,it could be the motor or a belt that needs to be replaced

try a new needle--presser foot in the highest position--needleflat side to the back of the machine, or flat side to the left,each machine is differentrethread the machine top & bobbin

change the needle to see if that will take care of the problemif it doens't then the machine needs to be checked at a sewing machine shop about the timing

check the feed dogs to see if their up position, if they are in the up position the the machine needs to be checked

if you just purchased the machine & it's still under warrenty, I would take the machine back & get another machine or your money back.

it's possible that something is wrong with the feed dogs,, the machine needs to be serviced

I believe you have a broken gear. These are difficult to repair on your own.

when you have a machine jam up there is something wrong with the partsinside, only a sewing machine shop can tell more after they check the machine.

Make sure feed dogs (teeth in needle plate beneath needle) are showing. Flip switch to UP position to "feed" fabric. Sometimes control fir this located on back of machine lower left side and " hidden" by your extension table, so remove that table and you'll find the switch! Jimmy

when a sewing machine is sewing in place that mean the feed dogs are not up,, if the are up & it's still sewing in place then there is something wrong with the feed dogs & they need to be checked.

since the tension is the same no matter where the dial is set, the machine may need a new tension dial.Go to the singer website Click on customer support--there will be a drop down menu Choose instruction manual In the box type the model number--(example 3116) Click search

The bobbin may be stripped, or the bobbin winder might be stripped; try it with a different bobbin, to rule out the bobbin being the issue; if that doesn't work, look closely at the bobbin winder to see if it has been damaged. You may be able to adjust it's shape with a pliers

Hi there!Unplug your machine, then look closely at the area where the hook came from. You will observe that there is a curved piece called the driver which moves in an arc when you turn the hand wheel. The hook is also curved so that when you turn the handwheel until the driver looks like a smile, then you can hold the hook by the center pin and turn it to look like a frown. If you put the frown on the smile, it will fit and all you have to do is put on the cover piece and turn the 2 pivoting holding arms over the cover until they lock into position and you are done. It won't hurt to put a drop of good quality sewing machine oil on the hook before sewing for best results. Hope this helps!Jimmy
