After seeing this, I went onto sewingpartsonline.com and was able to order a new reverse lever for $7.95. Considerably cheaper than taking it in for repair.

it should,, when the light on my mechanical sewing machinewent out I could still sew on it ,,but I needed a extra light that wasvery bright to sew by.

I had this same problem yesterday. I took apart the needle tension casing and now it doesn't get tangled or stop. The only thing is the bobbin is not sewing...it looks fine on the top, but the bottom is just loose loops.

Details please. Did it break? Come out?

change the needle just in case there is something wrong with the tip of the needlecheck for burrs on the needle plate

only certain needle can be used on light weight fabric also some times a stablizer or interfacing has to be used with light weight fabriccheck your manual for the right size needle for the fabricif you don't have a manual here is a free onehttp://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/438_3116.pdf

Loosen thread tension.(lower tension). Please check your manual/ DVD to see where thread tensioner is located.

#1 cause of puckering is a tension/threading problem. Make sure the thread/needle matches the fabric type too.

try jiggling the hand wheel as you press/push the button/slider.

For first clue is the "motor revs" your motor belt is either too loose, too worn or broken.
