Iwant to sew a separating zipper on a coat. what does the zipper foot look like for singer model 3116?

Just like the regular working foot, most zipper feet look the same regardless of machine. At least, the part of the foot that is actually in contact with the work: small, solid--no thread slot or needle well in the middle--and a small notch on each of the left and right sides. 7_16_2014_5_14_16_am.jpg 7_16_2014_5_14_54_am.jpg

How to fill a bobbin

Hi, not familiar with this machine, but a few tips - Unthread the machine fully. Remove the bobbin. Is the bobbin thread the same as the top thread? Is it a Quality thread (yes, cheapie thread can give big issues!!) Do you have several different threads wound onto the bobbin?? Is the bobbin thread wound on quite tight? If you push your finger nail into the thread wound onto the bobbin, it must not feel soft or spongy. .... hope this in general helps some!

I need a manual for singer 7105

If when you put the bobbin in, you can't get the top thread to bring it up, your timing is off. That means that the hook that catches the top thread as it goes around is out of sync. If you have had no experience working with this type of machinery, I do not recommend that you try to fix it yourself; however, any sewing machine technician can fix it for you--it should not be expensive and doesn't take long, and it doesn't have to be a Singer dealer--hooks and how they work are standard for every machine. I believe that Sears will work on any machine. It doesn't require a replacement part.

When I put the presser foot down and begin to stitch, the needle just keeps sewing in the same place, and the presser foot won't allow me to easily move the fabric.

You might want to see if the drop feed control is down. There's a switch (for my Singer machine, you have to take off the removable sewing table/storage, and the switch is behind the machine)...if the drop feed is down, you can't see the "teeth" as I call them which grips the fabric. Another idea is to back stitch (reverse sewing lever) a couple stitches and then try sewing. Make sure the foot speed control is hooked up correctly. https://wiki.artisansasylum.com/images/0/0f/Sewing_Machine_--_Singer_3116_--_Manual.pdf This is the manual for your sewing machine model you posted. Good luck.

How do I adjust the tension on my Singer 621B model I have had it for 20 years and the tread breaks every time I try to sew with it?

Put the top tension on 3. The bottom bobbin carrier remove. The little plate on the carrier has a screw to tighten and loosen for the bottom tension. Allow the thread to drop the carrier about two inches from your hand and move up and down lightly. The carrier should extend slightly when you do this. If it doesn't do it then loosen. If it does it too far then tighten. Make sure that your bobbin is rotating counterclockwise. The top may have to be adjusted by the fabric you are sewing but three is a good start.

Auto Needle Threader Won't Come Down

If it's still in warranty, send it in for repair. If it's not still in warranty, pull out a length of top thread and clip off the end with sharp scissors at an angle. Poke the end of the thread through the needle eye -- it should go through easily. Two second solution.

Change needle position

http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/438_3116.pdf see p. 52. You change the position of the zipper foot, not the position of the needle, with this machine.

I am having trouble threading the bobbin on a consew cp 206R. I can't figure out what to do with the thread to anchor it in order to load the bobbin. I usually use an origional electric Singer machine

If I understand your trouble, I put the bobbin on the machine ready to be loaded with thread. I feed the thread from the inside of the bobbin through one of the holes to exit on the outside. I hold tight onto the thread and start up the bobbin feed drive. once it is covered by several layers of thread, you can let go since the thread will not slip out. If I did not understand your question, here are a few sites that show how to thread the Consew CP 206R as well as how to "reset" the timing if you happen to get a jam while sewing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIKml4yGLSc https://www.google.com/search?q=consew+cp+206R.&oq=consew+cp+206R.&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=0&ie=UTF-8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-pL2vISk2k If you want to download a manual: http://www.devicemanuals.com/productsupport/Consew_CP206R_manual.html Good Luck and Happy Sewing!

Can I go from straight stitches to zigzag stiches and back in the same seam?

Hi Susie, I can't tell whether you mean straight stitching and then turning your work 180 degrees to stitch atop the straight stitches in zig-zag, or continuing around the corner of your straight stitched side using zig-zag. But you can do either. You can mix up straight and zig-zag stitching at will. Just ease up to a stop, ensuring the needle is positioned down inside the work when you stop. Lift the foot. Adjust to your desired stitch setting. Lower the foot. Turn the wheel toward you manually to ensure the stitches will be placed where you want them, and Slowly engage the power again (via foot or thigh lever). Hope this helps.

Stitch length

Neat zigzag stitches are usually achieved at "2.5" or below. Closed up zigzag stitches (close together) are referred to as a satin stitch its likely you will want to set for 1.5 or at most 2. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals/3116-singer-parts-SEWING+MACHINE-manual Look for page 40 in the owners book or scroll down and if you see numbers not on the page but on the scroll bar look for 47. It has some great pitures that can help you out.
