How to adjust AIWA Turntable PX-E860U speed

Found this post trying to troubleshoot my Aiwa PX-E860U-after replacing the belt and lubricating bearings, the speed was off. 33 setting was playing slow. Here's the fix: 1. unplug and flip upside down 2. Locate the two holes marked 33 & 45 where black dots are visible underneath 3. Using a very small flat screwdriver(I used one from an eyeglass repair kit), adjust the speed clockwise for faster, counterclockwise for slower this is a DIY solution, so not perfect, but it works. I played the tracks along to a Spotify recording to get a good match. Hope this helps someone else!

The drive belt on my Aiwa px-e860 turntable has

Lift felt on platter and and lift the platter section off the unit by putting your thumb and forefinger through the two large holes and pull upwards. There should not be any special routing for the belt and should go directly onto the spindle motor to your platter. Place the belt around the inside rim of the platter while it is still off the unit. Now replace the platter and move the platter around until you see the spindle motor through one of the holes. Use some tweezers to manouvre the belt onto the spindle motor. On some units you will have to lay the belt out inside the unit, replace the platter and manouvre the belt onto the platter. Hope this helps

My Aiwa px e860 record player arm is too heavy how do I adjust it?

If you put the maker and model number into Google you will find a service manual free for the make. That should help you sort out the problem. It's just a question of getting the weight at the other end of the arm adjusted right.

How do I eliminate turntable squeaks?

Clean dust out. Get some Silicone Grease and use that on moving parts. Use a straw in your ear to locate the source of the noise. Silicone Grease can be found at Maplin (in the UK) or Radio Shack (or a shop like it) in the USA.

Sound from a Aiwa PX-E860 turntable

Only a guess here but are there any electronic components or circuit boards that the WD40 may have covered? If so it may be wise to remove the WD40 from these items as it may have electrically changed some component values and altered the circuit function. Worth a try.

Reconnect the belt on an AIWA PX-E860 turntable

To replace a turntable drive belt. Before starting any work on your turntable disconnect it from the mains power supply. Remove the stylus or complete headshell to prevent any accidental stylus damage. 1. Remove the rubber platter mat to expose the platter. 2. Put your thumb and forefinger through the two round holes either side of the centre spindle and lift the platter off. You may need to give the centre spindle a light tap (whilst applying upward pressure) with a screwdriver handle or some similar tool that will not leave any marks or damage. 3. Remove the old belt and wipe the platter and motor pulleys with an alcohol swab to remove any old belt residue. 4. Place the new belt around the platter pulley making sure it is sitting flat without any twists. 5. Flip platter over to the right way up. A correct fitting belt will stay put and an over sized belt will fall off. 6. You will see 1 or 2 large rectangle or square shaped cut outs in the platter near to the outer edge. Through one pinch up the belt and slip a finger or belt hook between the platter pulley and the belt gripping the belt ready to fit over the motor pulley. 7. Align the centre hole of the platter with the spindle and place platter back into position keeping a grip on the belt. 8. Slip belt over motor pulley and give the platter a light clockwise rotation to ensure the belt is riding correctly. 9. Replace the rubber mat and then run the turntable to ensure correct operation. You have now successfully completed the process. MUSIC IS LIFE, LIVE IT LOUD. Copyright.. Styluscity, John Harrison.

The turn table is going round but its playing the record to fast the speed seems wrong

Hello!are you sure, that your speed selector is on 33.3rpm, not 45?assume, it's in correct speed settings. do you know, that across the ocean power grid AC frequency is 50hz, in US it's 60hz. Means: ac motor will spin faster, than it should. If you bought this unit abroad, that's where is your problem at. some expensive units have 50/60hz pulleys switch, some not. Especially, if it's DC or direct drive motor. Check your owner's manual for specifications. May be you find an answer. If not, there is a problem with motor's regulator, which is built in(DC motor). Turntable is a belt driven. If you won't find 50/60hz adjustments, take it to repair shop.Good luck,Alex.

Can the aiwa px e860 be run independently from a hi fi unit

You would have to make an independent power supply for it. It would help if you can find the system service manual. This should show what the power supply line is. You could then build a power supply. Generally these system turntables don't use one greater the 12 volts DC, and there are power adapters pre-built that would do the job. But you would need to adjust the voltage to get the speed right.

Aiwa turntable not playing through the speakers

Has the amp got a dedicated phono socket for the turntable? If you are using a tape or aux socket it might not have the pre-amp needed to hear the deck. If your amp doesn't have a socket for the deck, you will need a magnetic cartridge pre-amp. Also check the connections to the cartridge, they might have come loose.

Wont spin

Hello Bella, This is a belt driven turntable. Most likely, your drive belt has fallen off. It may be too stretched to stay on. To check this, remove the rubber platter mat. There should be holes in the metal platter, which if you rotate it, you will see the belt and the motor pulley. Remove the metal platter by grasping the holes. It should lift off. When the platter is off, try to slip the belt over the inside flat part of the platter. It should be snug. If it just falls off, the belt needs to be replace.
