If you are lucky all that has happened is that the lens that reads the disc has got dust on it and needs cleaning. You can get a lens cleaning disc or other DVD lens cleaning products from a shop for this. If you are unlucky then a bit of dirt has scratched the lens and it will need replacing.

Try re burning your disc in another program such as Nero. Sometimes if you burn a disc with generic burner they will only play in that program

Depends what program the dvd was burnt with. Try re burning the dvd with another program like Nero. Keep an eye on your options.

Hello
If you want to buy its original remote control, contact the authorised service center for Samaung at your town.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as another possible root cause for intermittent shutdown.

Hi, if your remote is not function please replace the battery first. If fails, check the IR light of remote for malfunction

Hello, all of the vocals are supposed to be coming from your center speaker,it may be turned off(check the units menu) speaker might be disconnected.,volume might be set too low as each speaker has a individual volume control in the menu.

Take it to a repair shop. The output transistors may have shorted and need to be replaced or there is something shorting out the power supply - the protection circuit activates to prevent a fire or spark in the unit.

sounds like Something is hooked up backwards or voltage is wrong and it's over heating

1. make sure all the speaker pos/neg connections are attached properly as instructed.

2. make sure all voltage selector is set to 120V not 220v

3. try playing with no speakers and add just one speaker at a time (power off with each addition)

4. check the fan on the PSC (printed circuit board) - inherant problem

5. if the above don't work and it's under warranty return it immediately for a replacement

6. if not make sure cooling fan is working and dust free - sometimes flipping or turning it around does the trick this is a design flaw

replace the amp

Samsung HT-X40... | Answered on Jul 03, 2010 | 323 views

I am unsure of where to find this board but try ebay. as of today a replacement unit is 139.00 plus shipping. The board can be repaired, The problem is most likely a bad transistor. In some cases components surrounding the transistor will go bad also. If you can solder remove the transistors one by one until the protect mode goes away. Read the numbers off the part and type them into a search and order replacements. install the replacements and check for good audio out. Hope this helps.

it didn't solve my "protection" display problem...

Samsung HT-X40... | Answered on Apr 17, 2010 | 422 views

If protect is coming up on the display, it means the system is detecting a short somewhere on one of the speakers and so is turning the amp off to avoid damage.
Check all the connections at the back of the amp to ensure they are not shorting, and at the back of each speaker, if nothing is found there, check each wire for damage (like squashed or rodent damage).

The output was shorted and probably damaged the output stage of the amp. It's a service shop repair unless you know electronics and can get parts for it....
