I just had the same problem and called Quantum. They said my unit was defective. I've sent it back to the retailer.

You have a defective PC Cable.

Try this:

Turn on flash and wait until ready.
With PC cable connected to flash only.
Short out center pin to outside of PC Cable, this should fire the flash.

This is some kind of industrial equipment, not a camera.

You need new battery.

Solid arrow -> normal operation. Dashed arrow -> faster cycle, less time to achieve readiness of the flash but, on the other hand, lower number of flashes.
