the servo series is geared more towards studio applications and/or installs, while the sx series are geared for live pa applications. the servo 600 is 300 watts per channel @ 4 ohm, and the sx1200 is 450 watts per channel at 4 ohms. the sx amp can also be bridged over to mono mode, where it puts out, i think, 1100 watts mono. the only variable i havent been able to cover is sound quality, and im not seeing those listings in the specs on the samson website

Have you checked the power supply section? Also look out for any IC's in the amp stages. They can go causing that kind of fault.

If I guess correct your speakers are passive. That means that they have no internal amplifier so they need to take signal from power amplifier. A way to examine that is that your speakers have no power supply input or cable (in reverse the active speakers have power supply input).
Assuming that this thought is correct you can not use your Samson SX1200 power amplifier (2 x 300 watts at 8ω and 2 x 450 watts at 4ω). You asked 2 main channels (left, right) and 2 monitor channels, so using just one stereo power amplifier is impossible for this combination. I suggest you buy 1 more stereo amplifier in order to use it for the 2 monitor channels (assuming that you use Samson for the main speakers). I don't suggest exchange Samson for one with 4 channels because in case of a problem you will have none power amplifier and you will have no sound at all. The power amplifiers also, when are using in high power levels, tends to make heat. Using 2 power amps you can manage this heat easier. I've done these thoughts assuming that all your speakers are in good condition and sound great. Otherwise we can create a new plan replacing some speakers with new ones active technology so you could avoid power amplifier channels.

a 300 watts stereo amplifier can able to drive this.

Heating of the power transistorcan be one of the causes.you may have to take out the complimentary pairs to check.The pair may take out the drivers and some components along with it.These may take some time, (troubleshooting) But have a tech to guide you, if you need to DIY.Good luck, let us know what you find or needs further assistance.

Either the channel on your radio is not working. Or the AV cord you are using is not working on one side (reverse the cord and plug it in the opposite you are using now. If it still only works on the one side your cord is good.) Or the final transistor for the channel on that amp might have blown. You could also have a cold soldier joint on or otherwise faulty jack plug. Let me know if this helps you find the issue.

on the mixxer, use the "mix" "L" and "R" outputs. use 1/4 inch instrument cables, and connect the mox L and R to the amp's "channel 1" and "channel 2 inputs". always turn the mixing board on first, and the amp second- when turning off turn off the amp first, and turn off the mixer second. start with the mixer levels at the lowest, with the amp levels about 1/2 to 3/4 up. slowly raise the mixer channels first and then the mixer main volume until you have an adequate volume.

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Eure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Bass drum by convention is ch1 on the board.
You need a good drum and a good mic

First set eq flat and pfl ch1, set gain control so drum just hits peak/or red when hit hard.

Send ch to drum group (1+2) on board, or route to master (L+R), depending on type board. Then listen to drum ONLY through the system, and adjust eq so it sounds good at low level then turn it up and keep it sounding good.
If it keeps peaking the ch then turn down gain.

There are toys (inserts) you can use noise gates and compressors if available,


Sound is objective and can not be learnt without doing it , good luck. remember good low level sound will always be better than really bad lound sound, start low make it good then make it loud.

Good drums do not need much eq. Get the drum right first.
