Firmware update vizio vbr220

Firmware update is a skilled work, especially to Blu-ray players. You should know well about which firmware version is now installed with your player, before updating it. Without knowing this, never try to do anything. It might make the set unresponsive to any external commands. Contact the authorized service center for details, and more assistance. I own a BD-P1500 model.

It could be it needs new firmware.
If you have not updated firmware it would be worth doing this as there have been quite a lot of updates on most players.
Also make sure the disk is perfectly clean.

Not reading any DVD's.

Hello,

First check if your DVD is compatible with the disc, if it is compatible and is not playing, then it means your lens is either weak or bad.

Try to use a lens cleaner on it and if it does not work, then you replace the lens with a new one.
Replacing the lens is easy, all you have to do is get a replacement lens, then you open up your DVD player, with the appropriate screwdriver, locate the lens and replace it with the new one you got for it.

Take care and good luck

The disc player locks up

When you disconnect the power you need to leave disconnected for 40 min, so the electrolytes caps can dissipate, and then the processor will reset back to normal.

Avitar says it needs to be updated

Hello,

Step one is to find the manufacturers website for the Blu-ray player you are using.

Go to their technical support page and download the latest release or update for that player. (You may be asked to enter the model number and or serial number of the Blu-ray player you are using.)

Save or burn the downloaded file to a DVD and insert into your Blu-ray player. (While there are many easy to use DVD Burner software packages, Roxio is a user friendly application found on most computers.) Follow the on-screen prompts.

Or if the your player has a USB port, download the update into a flash drive, insert the flash into the usb port of your player, press Usb on the player's remote and the update should commence.

Good luck.

My son selected the out put to 1080p instead of

Hi there.

Take out any disc still in the player and, with the power on, press and hold down the Fast Forward button on the front of the unit for 10-15 seconds. This will reset your player to its default settings. A language menu selection should appear on the TV screen, which confirms the reset.

Keep in mind that the default output for the device might be analog, so make sure you have those connectors at hand.

Hope this helps,

Skipping, Sound not matching mouth movements,

Does this happen with both Blu-Ray discs as well as DVD-Video?

If so, it may be the connection or your TV.

If it only happens with one or the other, its a problem with etiher the Blu-Ray lens or the DVD lens and i would advise contacting Samsung to arrnage a service.

If its happening with both, try repalcing the cable you are using and test the Blu-Ray on another TV

I have a BD-P1200 that has never been upgraded,

If it ain't broke,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
as they say, as blue ray is still very new, is there an upgrade???
If there is you need to get a download from Samsung, burn to a disc, and load it into your player. But if it goes wrong, as I know it can, you may as well throw the player out.
So if it's working ok, leave it so.

Samsung bd-p1200 won't play new "quantum of solace"

I too had this problem with Qauntum of Solace, I could get past the teasers and the warnings but when it gets to the main menu I select PLAY and it just stops at 00:00. The firmware upgrade fixed it! However I had to make a CD because the LAN method said I already had the latest version. I downloaded Ver 2.5 from Samsung support site - ( http://pages.samsung.com/us/bluraysupport/support.html)
Then I needed to get Nero Burning ROM software (windows version) to burn an IMAGE of the .ISO file (I use a Mac and just burning the file onto a CD didn't work) You have to follow these instructions to the letter - ( http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/downloadfile/ContentsFile.aspx?CDSite=us&CttFileID=1488556&CDCttType=FM&ModelType=C&ModelName=BD-P1200&VPath=FM/200710/20071012103832890_BD-P1200_CD_Update_Process.pdf )
Finally the player recognized the firmware and did the upgrade to 081119_T22F_0924.07_XAA
Voila, QoS now plays without a hitch.

Problem w/Samsung BD-P1200 Blue Ray Disk Player

Hello mljackson197,

This indicates a problem with the pickup head. First I would suggest cleaning the laser head with a disk made for that purpose. If this does not work, then I would suggest (if you have a background in electronics) taking the cover off and checking the bias voltages on the laser pick head (comparring them to the schematic values). What I believe is happening is just a dust problem, however if it is a circuitry problem, contact the manufacture or use the schematic/service manual to locat OEM parts.

I would, however try to clean the pickup head first.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Unable to program Universal Remote. provided codes do not work.

Problem solved. I decided to use the learning function of my remote to learn the wanted commands of the original remote. The remote I used was a Sony RM-VL610 which could learn the original remotes functions easy and quickly. This is a very good remote for only $30 purchased at Target. The Macro commands were also entered rather easily. I did not try this method originally, because I thought it would be too time consuming and difficult.
