Disc say cant record, what disc do i buy
This model (PY90DG) DVD recorder supports the following disc recording formats: DVD+RW/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD-R for everyday video. These should record fine. The RW discs are for repeated recording/erasure while the R discs are once-only recording types - the R discs must be finalised in this deck to make them playable on other DVD players. DVD-RAM discs are NOT supported by this unit. This recorder will play MP3 files on a CD-R or CD-RW (not DVD-ROM) just fine as well, but will not record them.
Best discs to buy for this type of recorder are DVD-R (recommended brand - Verbatim or TDK if you can get them, but not Memorex). These are OK.
I have a Funai HDR
In that case the problem is caused by a dead red laser - the one for the dvd (the cd uses a different laser, an infrared one).
Unfortunately this is unfixable - the laser head must be replaced . Or you could try to replace the entire mechanism, it's basically an computer one without a case.
Can i override the copy protected vhs tape to copy
There are ways around macrovision, but you would have to spend money on a box of tricks and you would have problems copying using the DVD/Cassette with it. Some computer programs will get rid of it, but again you would have to spend money to connect the VCR to your computer. In the end I have found it cheaper and less time consuming to purchase the DVD. Plus it will be better picture quality, aside from the fact that copying such an item is against the law.
IS THERE A CODE TO SET MY FUNIA SV2000 DVD
Remotes are set to the DVD recorder in the REMOTE. It is difficult to control a DVD recorder with a universal remote except for basic functions. The remote manual needs to list the DVD Recorder or a similar Funai model to control it. Try different Funai codes from your remote book. One might work for minimal stop, play, pause, etc.
