easy way to find out.. is use the wattage divided by the voltage used will give you amp draw. so if you in a vehicle.. most are either 12-15 volts. the radio in theory say its doing 400 watts. 400/12 = 33.3 amps normal cb that can do 12watts your looking around 1-2amp draw.

The voltage regulator on the right side of the radio (with the parts side up ) is located in between the 2 side screw holes is ether bad or the legs are broke loose . it is a A1869 transistor.can be replaced with a A473 Transistor . Basically it's the same as a Galaxy Radio ,Ranger makes the boards for (RCI ,Galaxy , Connex , North Star ,Super Star, General Lee .) Hope this Helps.

If it has a relay for the transmit, just tape on the relay when you key up and see if it is stuck.

This is a 10 meter Amateur Radio. You need a license to operate it. From my research it doesn't do CB Radio Frequencies. if your swr is higher on 1 then on 40 then your antenna is electrically short and you have to lenghten the antenna.If it is higher on 40 then on 1 then it is long and you have to shorten it. If you have to make it longer then you may have to add a quick disconnect or a coiled spring to make it longer. To make it shorter all you have to do is trim a 1/4 in at a time off the antenna whip but you must keep checking the match until it gets down below 1.5 .
