You must put your headset in pairing mode first. Press and hold the call control button for some 6 seconds, until the indicator light flashes alternately in red and blue, thus indicating the headset is in pairing mode. Only then, make your phone's blueooth application search for new devices. After a while, it should appear on-screen. Select it and make it connect. If a pairing code (or PIN, or passkey) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros). If the pairing process is successful, the indicator light will flash in blue.
By the way, if its user guide happens to be missing, feel free to download it from this location.

4 - If the phone asks for a User Code or passkey, enter 0000 (four zeros)

try to use code 0000

The blinking blue light is the status light. There is no way to turn it off unless you open the unit and remove the light.

If letting it dry out completely does not solve it for you the only thing you can do is buy a new one...sorry about that these are not repairable item

Hey, I have managed to turn off blinking in My Plantronics 665 by
first: Turning off headset,
then pressing volume up and turning it on.
It will blink to show that it is on, , then blink one more time to show, that it is connecting to phone, and thats it, : no more blinks,
So You don't look like UFO :-)
