EnGenius EOC-3220 (EOC3220) - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Can not log in to senao 3220
There are multiple issues here, and vague reports.
The original poster's problem could be caused by any number of configuration errors. Without him reporting his configuration, it would be impossible to diagnose this problem.
The April poster reports a non-problem, in that his PC's indication that his LAN is active means only that the device at the other end of his ethernet cable is communicating properly with his PC, but says nothing about whether access to the internet past that point is active or not. He reports other valid problems, such as difficulty understanding and performing the configuration process, but again much more detail is necessary in order to pursue his issue.
The March poster reports a symptom that implies that he has a bad cable, POE, or main unit (assuming that his PC ethernet port is known good). Swapping components to identify the faulty one is indicated here. I realize that an average user may not have more than one of some of these components, but someone will have to do this to identify the issue.

Data communication problems accross my WLAN Bridge
The first step here is to identify exactly what portion of the link is the culprit. Clearly you must have some sort of AP in the remote building for the handheld devices to connect to, since the bridge radio won't perform that function. So I would attach an AP of that type directly to the ProCurve and see if the problem is present or absent when you try to sync devices using that AP without any involvement by the Engenius units at all. If you isolate the behavior to the Engenius units, you may have to play with the Data Rate and Fragment Threshold settings.

I have successfully connected two
Their isnt much you can do when it comes down to just software wize on improving pings time, other then making sure your not running extra programs on your computer thats eating up bandwidth. Torrent programs, downloading a ton of things in the back ground. playing online games, or even usig your comptuer as a web server, can bog down this. Decreasing ping times to your comptuer, other computers or anything on your network.
im not sure what speed of internet you have, upping the speed will help some also.
as well as hardware it all depends on what you have, and how many devices on your network your going though. How long your wires are if you got them wired directly or the distance away form your router if your using wifi
if their wired if you got extra wire, just rolled up, shorten the length yo u will get improved performance. (note don't worry about shorting it if its a foot or less.)
your ping time is only as fast as your modem, and the modem on the other device or comptuer is.
other things that can help is resting the modem, and our routers time to time, doing so will reset and refresh the connection this can help as well.

Engenius EOC - 3220 Not connecting through to LAN Wireless OK
Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.
It sounds like the router either got confused or the firewall blocked the connections when it was accidentally connected the wrong way. To fix this, try resetting the router.
To reset the router, be sure to have the software handy. If you do not have the cd-rom, you can download the software free of charge from the manufacturer's website.
On the back of the router is a small pin hole. Press in the button using a pen or paper clip for 15 minutes. You will see the front lights blink as you do this.
Connect the router directly to one computer and run the installation disk or downloaded software. Follow the wizard to successfully configure the router.
This will fix any and all problems and save you troubleshooting time.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Cannot get in to my Engenius 3220 with 192.168.1.10
Attach the 3220 directly to your computer with an ethernet cable (through the POE box, of course). Allow it 60 seconds to start up. Make sure the address of your computer is 192.168.1.something. Ping 192.168.1.10. If it answers, browse to 192.168.1.10 and it should let you in, or ask you for a name and password, however you have it set up. If the ping fails, 192.168.1.10 is not the address assigned to your bridge, and you may have to perform a factory reset on the unit using these instructions:
http://engeniustech.com/datacom/support/general-details.aspx?id=65
If the ping and browse succeed, then make sure that 192.168.1.10 is not within the DHCP range of your Netgear router to avoid it giving out the same address to some other device. I assume that 192.168.1.x is in the LAN range of your router -- if not, that's your problem.

Problem using 2nd hand AP senao EOC3220 EXT
You can use this unit either as an access point, to provide wireless access to a network you already have, or as a bridge, to access a remote wireless network someone else has.
Note that you own the EXT model, meaning that you have to attach your own antenna to the connector before it will function. There is no internal antenna on this model.
Configuration instructions are available at
EOC-3220 Series User Manual
Factory reset instructions are available at:

Antenna
First off, the EOC-3220 series comes in two choices: the ones ending in EXT, which require you to add an external antenna, and the ones without, to which there is no place to add an external antenna. So there is no decision to be made in the software configuration, because it's all handled above the software's pay grade.
Other Engenius models with "either/or" antennas come with a physical switch that allows you to choose between the internal antenna and the external jack. So again, there's no software contribution.

Vista tuorial
If you use the browser method documented in the accompanying manual, you should be able to configure this radio using any browser or operating system. It's much safer to learn how to configure without using "wizards" that only function on one OS or architecture.

Problem resetting senao 3220
It all depends how your cable is wired. I had to add a null modem adapter and a gender changer to the USB-to-serial cable I bought for this task before I could communicate with the radio. I suggest you try the null modem to see if that is your issue.

Trying to get into my engenius 3220.using 192.168.1.254
If you have lost track of what IP address you have assigned your 3220, you can use the serial reset procedure documented here to return it to factory defaults:

Antennas
Number one, this isn't a clear question. Number two, you have no choice of antennas with the EOC-3220 unit, only the built-in directional antenna.

Ap mode
Ignore the rumors. It's perfectly simply to converse with your APs through a browser. I do it daily. What may be throwing off your informant is that the default IP address of this unit changes from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 when it is switched into AP mode, as documented in the accompanying manual. But a conscientious net admin isn't going to leave the units at their default addresses anyway.

Resetting my EOC-3220 via serial cable
The # will only appear if you monitor the EOC through the power-up sequence. If you are cabling into a running EOC, that # has already gone by. By that time, you no longer need to wait anyway, just type.
If you can't type in the text window, you may have HyperTerminal set up wrong, or may have the wrong brand or model serial cable. The EOC is pretty good about accepting input when it is supposed to.
However -- as long as you know what the current IP address of your unit is, you should be able to browse to it over the main ethernet cable and make whatever changes you need that way. The MAC address allow table isn't going to affect your local access in any fashion, it only controls who can connect wirelessly. This may be faster than trying to figure out how your serial connection is faulty.

You might have changed the password for the wireless, this problem could be solved by pressing the reset button st the rear for 5 sec while the power on and the router will be reset at factory default settings, hope this will solve the problem
