To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.
3. Enter the router setup, login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA).

you need to look at the back of your router you will able to see a blue color button . this button is known as wps button .

The router's password can be changed by running the routers setup cd. If you do not have the cd:

1.Open your browser

2.In the address bar type in 192.168.1.1 this will bring you to your router configuration.

3.put in your username/password "If you forgot your username and password you can always reset your router, if that is the case your router will go to back to default settings,In order to reset the router look in the back of the router and you will see a reset button, press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, the reset button is located next to the Internet port on the router.

You should just have to plug the N300 into a wall outlet, and plug an ethernet cable into the ethernet/network port. Access the N300 by typing 192.168.1.1 into your web browser's address bar to access the N300. It has been a while since I set one up, but if I recall correctly it should just ask you to choose the wireless network taht you want to repeat, select your home network and enter the password for it and save settings.

Enter the new password in the Password box, and re-enter the same password a second time in the space provided. Entering the password a second time ensures you did not accidentally type in the wrong password the first time.The password change is not applied on the router until you save or confirm the change. In this example, click the Save Settings button at the bottom of the page to have the new password take effect. You will see a confirmation window appear briefly to confirm the password change was made successfully.
