We have multiple devices hooked

You might need to "reset" your Router. These usually have a reset button located on the back (Small pinhole kind) Press it and hold for about 10 Seconds till the router flashes or restarts completely. This takes you to the factory settings.

If you realize the laptop picking up a linksys network, then you are good to go.

Using your laptop, type the address http://192.168.1.1.

For user name and password, use either of these options: admin/admin or admin/<blank> (User/Pw) respectively.

You can now configure the router according to your wish.

I am trying to connect

unplug everything, including ethernet cables. then work in this exact order.
if you get a wireless signal and no internet, plug a computer in into the router in one of the available ports and check for internet. If no internet, unplug everything and test the modem without the router. If internet available without the router, then follow these instructions
  1. plug phone line into modem
  2. plug power into modem
  3. wait for all lights to become steady
  4. plug ethernet cable into modem
  5. plug other end of same cable into port labled "internet"
  6. wait for lights to become constant on both router and modem
  7. check your wireless device for wireless service.
if you dont get a wireless signal at all, plug your device into the rear of the router and type 192.168.1.1 in the adress bar
the password and username are both "admin" or simply leave the password blank if that doesn't work

navigate to the wireless option and turn on the wireless transmiter.
GOOD LUCK AND PLS RATE THIS POST!!!!!!

How do I Access the router’s web-based setup page?

Hello

you need to know the routers ip address or have the software. For most things the ip address will be 192.168.1.1 . You simply type that in your web browser and a page will come up.

you may need to go to the linksys site to find the default ip address of your router. But I would try "192.168.1.1" first.

Have a great day

I cannot access all websites

Make sure the physical connection is good between the computer in question and the D-Link gateway. If you do not have a solid link light, try swapping cables. Make sure the ethernet adapter is installed and functioning properly.

If you are running any firewall software on the computer that cannot connect, disable it. Make sure the TCP/IP settings are set to obtain an IP address automatically. Try releasing and renewing the IP address for your ethernet adapter. It should pull a 192.168.0.x address with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a default gateway of 192.168.0.1. If it does not get an IP address in this range, specify the address to be 192.168.0.10, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, and add the default gateway and primary DNS 192.168.0.1. Try and go online.

If it still cannot get online, go to the Control Panel and open Internet Options. Restore the default settings on the Security and Advanced tabs. On the Configuration tab, make sure the Dial Up setting is set to never dial a connection. Click the LAN settings button. All you want selected here is automatically detect settings, uncheck the other two boxes. Try and go online.

I need to get into my nat settings

All Linksys routers have a built-in web-based setup page that allows the user to customize settings and set up advanced properties.

NOTE: Before accessing the router's web-based setup page, make sure the router is powered on and the computer is wired to one of the Ethernet ports on the router (1, 2, 3 or4 ).

Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer.

Step 2:
Go to the Address bar and enter your router's IP address ("192.168.1.1" is the default IP of most Linksys routers) then press [Enter].

NOTE : For WRP400, the default IP address would be "192.168.15.1" and if you place the router behind a primary router with the IP address of "192.168.15.1", then the router will automatically assume a new default IP address, "192.168.16.1".

2. Press the Reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds.

NOTE
: This procedure will reset your router to factory defaults. Any settings on the router will be erased. The router's IP address will be "192.168.1.1" and the password will be "admin".

Step 3:
A new window will prompt for a User name and Password. Leave the User name field blank then enter your router's password ("admin" is the default password), then click OK.

If you forgot the router's password you need to reset the router. For instructions, click here.

My computer will not connect to the internet when

If you can connect to the Internet using the LAN cable then your Internet connection is OK.
If you are trying to connect to the Internet using the wireless connection, then your problem is the wireless settings in either the Linksys or the wireless card in your computer.
First check the wireless settings in the Linksys, ie. the SSID and encryption key.
Second check the wireless settings in the computer's wireless card, this must match the route's wireless settings. If it matched then do a Repair connection. this will get the Linksys to issue a new IP address to the wireless card.computer.
If the Linksys wireless settings were changed then configure the wireless card in the computer with these new settings.

You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
