Replace the deflection board. You can get a replacement deflection board at www.tvrepairworld.com

You will need to install the RCA repair kit called ITC222 & ITC222A convergence option missing repair kit. Its available from www.tvrepairworld.com and it contains the parts and the CD with instructions.

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that you have to replace the convergence IC and also check the power resistor, if values are not exact you have to replace them. These ICs are located behind the black heat sink; you can see once you open the back off the TV. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components. HI. This repair would cost $297.34 plus labor. The labor charge will run by the hour and will vary from shop to shop. The total estimate shouldn't exceed the 300 dollar mark. Now, with that said, I have some very bad news concerning the availability of the parts you will need. The convergence circuit repair kit has been discontinued and is no longer available to purchase.

You may be able to request a special order ticket. This can be achieved by contacting RCA directly.

your power supply is failing it will require a thorough cleaning or possibly repair/replacement I would suggest having a tv repair technican do any work but if you would like to do it yourself we can help you find any parts you need as well

You have an open power crcuit on one of the transistors, also the display board has probloems ( 5 flashes)
This is not DIY stuff it requires special tools and a knowledge of circuit diagram redaing and the ability to retune the boards. dor a 52" I deem t6he cost around $600.00

Your tv will need the power/deflection board repaired.....there are a few capacitors which will be obviously swelled and a reputable service shop should be able to replace these at a reasonable cost. If you are technical,i can further assist you to do yourself as well.

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projeciton sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

CONVERGENCE SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you are handy and can follow directions. You can get complete repair kits from TvRepairKits.com or click here. They have put together DIY repair kits that include the OEM parts and step by step photo instructions for each repair. If you are not handy or can't follow directions we would suggest calling a shop.

No ,this type of set does not use the lamp like a dlp or lcd proj set,you need to use the original remote and go to the convergence menu and see if you can line them up. An owners book mught be help ful for the exact details!
