Power light comes on then goes right off in 2sec

Sounds like a failed power supply / power board inside the TV. Unfortunately this is a very difficult repair, and unless you are an electrician I would not recommend attempting it. You will need to contact a local TV repair person in your area. If you think it may still be under warranty please contact the manufacturer to file an RMA. If you happened to purchase the TV with a major credit card (not a debit card) there is a good chance it may still be under the free extended warranty most credit cards place on electronics. Please contact your credit card company to inquire if they do this, and they will be able to file the claim and get you a refund for the TV.

So sorry that I don't have better news but it is definitely a power issue internally.

Thanks
Tim

How can i reset my tv

Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Below are more details for both items. Also, complete repair kits with instructions and repair support are avail from site such as www.TvRepairKits.com Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone outProjection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then yourconvergence is broken and needs to be repaired. This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem. Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. The power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

My television wont come on

On old projection TV's that wont turn on could be a bunch of things.
So if you plug your tv in and you not only hear nothing but also see nothing aka flashing light or anything of that sort. You might want to look at your power supply board. This is high voltage and i mean it, unplug your TV for about 3 days before looking into the back. The power supply board is the one that the power cord goes too from the wall. I would look for any visual damage such as blown capacitors or fuses. If your not familiar with electronics, capacitors are the cylinder looking things that stick out of the board with silver caps. If those caps are bend upward at all, they are bad. Here is an example of bad capacitors.jkoop144_0.jpg

If you are getting signs of life from it I could be something else. If you give some more info i will glaldly tell you where to go from there

Today, i went to mow

Thats a very common problem with that model which happens when the flybacks bad solder joint causes an arc which blows the FL231, Diode DL231 and Capacitor CL230 on the deflection board. thats what causes the Auto convergence feature to disappear from the menu options. You can get the Repair kit called the convergence option missing repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com its under the RCA repair kits category and contains the parts plus instructions for the repair.

My RCA 60in Television is not working. I does not

The most likliest cause is the Deflection power board PSB260. If the power light comes on briefly and goes out three times then the deflection board is the cause. You can get the replacement ITC222A deflection board PSB260 from www.tvrepairworld.com which has installation instructtions included the board simply plugs in no special tools required.

I have an RCA 32LA30RQD

Hi well unfortunately this could be almost anything in fact, what you need to do is to obtain a service manual for your exact make and model, in there are the troubleshooting procedures to follow to isolate and hopefully repair this unit. The SM maybe able to be obtained from a Google search using the exact make and model, that or a direct approach to the manufacturer may yield a manual? Successful repair is almost impossible without such a manual, if only to order spares?.
The " circuit interruption" (sic) was indeed most likely the cause, what has most likely happened is that the Inrush current damaged something when power was restored.
In a unit.like this have most likely been damaged in the Power Supply section, and in any event this is the first place to start, one must always first check the PSU, as if the PSU isn't 100% then NOTHING else can be. There are NO shortcuts, indeed that, taking shortcuts, is the best way I know of to ruin any chance of repair for anyone now or to come. It is simply? a matter of testing the PSU and working out along any "Bad Rails" the Voltages here are critical and always will lead us to our problem, if the Voltages are too High, we are looking for some sort of Open Circuit, usually a component failed in the open circuit position, now if the Voltages are too low, then we are looking for a Full or Partial Short Circuit type of thing. The service Manual is essential in troubleshooting and understanding the entire thing. Further the SM allows one to know the parts Numbers required to order spare parts for replacement. usually Board level component isn't too realistic and mostly the entire faulty board is replaced, when suspect.
However if DIY is not an option, then in my humble professional opinion, the very best thing to do to get it actually repaired, and at a reasonable cost, is to contact a local or head office from RCA, then ask them for a referral to an authorised service center, now when in touch here and when in face to face contact, well, at this time, ONLY ask first, for a "Quote", as to the costings of the prospective repair, then armed with this information one can make up ones mind as to repair or replace.

Hello, my children was playing

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your problem, I will be happy to help. I hope you find the time and information I provide to be valuable and will honor the good faith system of this site. Please be aware the answer to your question may not be good news and the procedures that are required to solve your problem may be complex and could involve replacing parts that can be expensive.

Solving your problem depends a lot on your ability to follow directions very carefully, be patient, and continue the communication process with detailed responses. The more information you provide the better chance of solving your problem.

The screen assembly can be replaced but it is kinda expensive. $280 plus tax and shipping. If you need it installed that will cost about $250-$300 labor. Or you can try it yourself, just have to be real careful. Usually there are two layers of screens so ask before you buy if this includes both screens: http://www.encompassparts.com

The replacement is not an easy task, however the decision is completely your's.As i mentioned, even if you repair it yourself you would expect to pay around $350 ( including shipping, taxes and miscellaneous charges plus it would be 3 - 4 hours job.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

When turned on the menus

The problem is most likely with the switches behind the buttons. You could have the switches on the board replaced. The easiest solution would be to simply unplug the board where the switches are located. The board is located directly behind the buttons. The TV should work fine after with the remote control only.
You can access this board by removing the lower speaker grill. You should be able to see where the panel that the buttons are on in attached to the unit. Unscrew those screws and find the cable attaching to the keypad assembly. Disconnect that plug and you should be good to go.
