The screen may not be the problem in most of these cases. Since you have checked everything else, also try checking the relay switches.

Ok you have a fault in the Vertical Amplifier section, and some sort of Jungle Chip fault too. There is no easy fix, unfortunately. This must be attended to, by a professional, any unit that can cause a fire or explosion, or both, must be attended to by a qualified person. It is my professional recommendation, that you get this at looked at by a Hannspree Authorised Service Agent, (Very Important) ask for a "Quote" for the repair, this way you will be able to determine as to weather repair of replacement is the way to go. Apart from the safety aspect, these days there really is no way to effectively service a set like in the old, analogue days,when one could do a modicum of a repair, but due to the digital electronics, and the sophisticated servicing equipment needed, those days are long gone. One needs an understanding of TV's, PC's and programming and a service manual, testing equipment.. the list goes on..

the only thing you can do is adjust your brightness, contrast, sharpness controls. every station is different especially the sound is louder on some channels and lower on some.

Due to the switchover of signals from Analogue to digital in the UK, Freeview has recently undergone a number of changes which mean that users have to re-tune their TVs or digital boxes in order to pick up the new signal.

Retuning should resolve the issue.

If you continue to have problems please ensure that all cabling to the device is secure especially any patch cabling that takes the signal directly to your TV. Digital signals are very prone to problems especially if there are loose connections, faulty cabling or shorts between the inner and outer cores of the cabling itself.

If your cables have screw on type connectors and are not sealed connectors make sure there is no short here causing a problem. In other words make sure B in photo has no contact with D in photo from within the connector itself.

Toss it Even if the tube is not broke chances are it will cost to much to repair and chances are even greater the metal part of the tube, (called the shadow mask) is warped and you will never get good color on it again I have been in the tv service business for 40 years and have not replaced picture tube for the last five years.

Thanks but I no longer require assistance. I tried to remove my post but it does not seem possible. I no longer need assistance because I sent the TV back. There is no solution as there is no universal remote code --- ridiculous for a brand new TV set that most people are probably going to want to use with cable!

The only workarounds I have seen, are pull out pin number eight out on your scart lead, this will stop it auto switching, or alot of these wireless video senders block the auto switching features when connected up through the via the scarts.

To enable/disable the power lock, press the "Menu" and "Volume +" buttons together and hold, this should change to "unlocked". Also, there is an OSD menu lock as well that uses the "Vol -" and "Vol +" keys together.

Try to use a HDMI cable, your component cables may not be usable with your TV.
