Radio Shack TRC-447 CB Radio Questions & Answers
Radio shack trc-447
According to the service manual for the TRC-447, the only adjustment is for "power" which is #L205. The only other step in the transmitter alignment is for the "S" meter.
On the Cobra, VR4 is AMC, L14,L13,L12 is AM power.
Radio shack trc-447 cb. no controls function,
The units have a reset code that protects the PLL brain from damage from voltage spikes. Ship it in and I'll get it back to normal function for you, providing the PLL has not been damaged.

Need the wiring for mic
My understanding of the TRC-502 is that it is 49 MHZ not CB. With that said I cant find
a microphone diagram for that specific radio. I found a 503 but that is a CB. I couldnt find a
wiring diagram for either radio. You could always call Radio Shack or The Shack, contact them online or call and ask for the info.

How to adjust the cb trc-447
Adjustments for the TRC-447 Cb - The AMC sensor is Q205 and I never really recommend cutting anything related to the AMC but this radio is the aception to the rule. I posted a picture for you. The red marking is Q205. Follow these instructions carefully and you should have a much louder CB. Q205 has three legs. One on one side and two on the other side. You need to cut the soldier leg on the side with two legs. This will be the leg closets to the bottom of the diagram I posted. Use a razor and and perhaps a magnifying glass and be very steady. You want to make a complete cut until you see nothing but the circuit board. You may have to make more than one pass. It is very important you only cut the bottom leg. When your done with that turn the radio over and spred L205 and L203 with a plastic screwdriver. Spread them evenly and make sure they don't touch anything when you are done.
Add more channels
not worth the time or effort to do on this radio. years ago when it was the thing to do , yes but not today when you can get a radio with those channels already installed .
Only wx works, can not hear channels
WX will work because its on a higher band and its receive only. Now if you are listening to AM and there is a ton of ground noise or maybe none at all its due to ground plane. Either you are not getting a strong signal which will give you no noise or a real strong signal which will not let you talk much more than maybe a mile which again is ground plane , giving too much won't let you transmit and too little there is no one to transmit with .
Big finals and how to install them for radio shack
It doesn't make a difference how big your final is the radio will not except it. What I'm saying is if you install a 100 watt final into it ,no matter what you will only get a max of 25 watts because the radio cannot handle the 100 watt load.No if you start changing components inside the radio to obtain the 100 watts you are now in violation of fcc rules , unless you are a licensed tech , if you were then why are you asking this question. The best thing to do do is get a 100 watt amp and hook it up. you will be smoking the neighborhood.
