Sounds like the pickup may be bad or volume is out.

you can do it but that bass cannon will not power the sub well at all. They put out maybe 40 watts RMS. best to find a cheep receiver and do it that way a lot less hassle. better sound. If you dont understand give me a shout.

If it is burning up resistors you have a power problem. honestly if it does this i would not invest the money into it i woud get another amp by the time it is repaired it will cost almost as much as a new amp. but if you still wanna do it id look threw china manufactures like Alibaba.

just hook it up and try it out that will tell you.

set gain low. the other is your filtering frequency as at what hertz you want to listen at switch threw them for your best sound.

the shown photo is a bit confusing too me , clearly this is an automotive speaker , but in the photo there is clearly a home power cord shown , is this power cord connected anywhere on this speaker ? as if it is , id be afraid that amp has received home power and not car power , as the two are not the same and have tremendous differences and would be quite damaging to this amp possibly unrepairable damage

Sub-woofers work on a low hertz as per audio. You have a built-in amp that has a crossover that separates frequencies under 100 Hz. Typical Hertz range is between 20-60. Since you have a built-in amp the black rectangle is a heat sink which helps to dissipate heat away from the internal components and also seconds as a cover to keep debris and other foreign objects from getting to the amp and burning it out. Ohm's Law says watts / volts = amps, so 1000/12 is 83+change -- damn! I hope you have a big, phat alternator! So fuses have to be rated somewhat higher than device load, you need a 90 amp or 100 amp fuse -- what style I couldn't even begin to guess, normal automotive fuses don't go that high. If this is a new install, make sure your power wires are heavy enough to handle the load. A fuse's job is to blow before the wiring catches fire. The longer the wire is, the thicker it must be. Electrical fire is a catastrophe so make sure your wiring is adequate -- I know it's hard to believe but the power wire is actually more important than the speaker wire!

be sure the amp is located in a well ventilated area as heat build up can cause a safety override to cut power once temp. reaches a certain point. amps do generate heat though so if you dont think its cutting out due to excessive heat building up, i'd definitely get a power capacitor to help keep a steady supply of electrical energy available for instances where the bass hits really hard or for prolonged periods of time. if you have a power cap already make sure it doesnt need to be upgraded to function properly. hope this helps!

its not supposed to do that,read your manual,it only reads memory cards,,it plays dvds Power Acoustik PD 103B

do you have it wired in with all necessary wires? i.e.: audio jacks L/R plugged in?

You should still have warranty and If so I would send it in for repair. The ribbon cable could be bad if it is a flip out style.Good Luck !

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. how random is it? Make sure the radio is grounded properly. Look in the pin outs in the harness and make sure there is a ground there. Also, you may have 1, 2, 3, or 4 bad speakers. A short in any one speaker will send the radio in protect mode. Also, If your radio is seeing less than something around a 3ohm load (technically 4) it will protect itself as well. Call Power Acoustik and tell them you had it for a few years and used it in a few cars so the harness has been chopped so short you need to get a new one. I'm sure if it was originally yours, they will want a receipt for the stereo brand new and they may sell it to you if it is available. If not, I sell new Soundstream Stereos at a very low discounted rate, as well, Power Acoustik. it is in protection mode, Double check your wires and make sure that every wire is hooked up right. if not then you need a new amp.
