Hi, I posted the same problem. I unplugged the unit overnight, and now it works. don't know if this will help, but it works!!!! :D

When you say filled with ice/ water, is it just an evaporative cooler? in which case it is really only a fan. If it is a proper a/c unit, try emptying the bin you have filled up and try again. Most a/c units have a water bin that fills and switches off the unit by a float switch until you empty it and it runs again. Let me know how you get on!Mike

Hi, I would start with the store where you bought it. Sounds like you got an incomplete unit. If not, they may be able to get a manual out of another unit. Don't see any manuals on line but 1-800-330-0388 is their phone number for customer service. Explain to them the situation and ask for technical services. They should be able to send you a manual and answer any questions you have on the unit. Write them all down before you call them. Hope I have helped. kstfas

You can use it but be prepared to replace it every year or two. These portable units are not designed to have a 100% duty cycle. The first thing to go is usually the fan. The power requirements will need to be a dedicated 120 VAC 20 amp service. These things run at about 12-13 amps on high, so a dedicated service would be best
