HELLO

Have a look at Originlive on the net. They do an armboard which should fit your turntable easily and enable to put a Rega RB250 or RB300 arm on your machine - it will improve audio quality too!

Technic SL1200 M3D

1) This turntable either has bad RCA cables or a faulty tonearm - in either case, none are easy fixes. FYI, If you use Ortofon Concorde series, they are notorious for causing faulty connections with your tonearm, and eventually deteriorate your tonearm over time. So you might want to think about changing them if you get a new tonearm put on. If you use the Technics headshell, you are fine. 2) This turntable definitely needs to have the tonearm replaced. Once the arm comes loose from it's bearings, it's next to impossible to get it back to factory specs, and you will have skipping issues. Both will require professional servicing. Check out www.1200s.com if your in the NYC area.

WHY DOES MY TECHNIC 1200 MK3 GO IN REVERSE IF I HIT THE START BUTTON TWICE?

There is a mod you can do to the 1200 to make it spin in reverse with a double-tap on the start / stop switch - exactly as you're describing. Likely, the previous owner installed said mod. It's awesome, embrace it.

The right side of the

The actual source of the sound is the dose, not the needle. The dose is connected to the audio connectors from the rear of the unit with 4 thin wires that go thru the arm.
Most likely one of that wires broke - this is easy to check: just measure the continuity of the wire from the small connector pins at the dose to the RCA connectors. To fix it, because you can't dismantle the arm to replace them, you will need to replace the entire arm. For that buy and follow the service manual

The Power switch on to of the strobe is pushed all

Replacement parts can be tough... Open the unit and you will likely find the switch itself has been pushed in too far... POSSIBLY bending a bracket it is mounted on OR sometimes pushing it out of some plastic tabs... If the tabs have been broken, then one uses an appropriate adhesive to hold the switch where it belongs... Use either a contact cement or silicone adhesive.

PITCH CONTROL PROBLEM

The reset button disables your pitch control and allows the turntable to rotate at TRUE "0" (zero). FYI, these turntables were NOT made for DJing. They were made for radio, studio, and high end home use. They became DJ turntables, because they were perfectly built for the trade. So, the pitch reset button is more of a function best suited for radio stations or a producer who needs to record or play at a true zero speed.

Now, on to your question...

More than likely you just have to calibrate your pitch control. There are various videos on YouTube on how to do this properly. Just do a search CALIBRATING 1200s or similar. FYI, all the Technics SL1200/1210 MK series are the same inside. MK2, MK3, MK5 - so don't worry if you only find videos on calibrating MK2's or MK5s - works the same on all the models.

Good luck!
