What error do you get when trying to install win7?

Have you tried booting from the disc by going to the boot menu to select the dvd/cdrom to directly boot from the Disc of win7 instead of installing form within another orpeating system.

Your computer doesn't have the required specifications to install Vista, I believe it has too little RAM. 512MB is technically enough, but it's possible Vista won't install on it because of that.

This problem can occur with mismatched RAM modules. Try to use the same make, type and speed as the original RAM module.

This is because the computer's virtual memory might be low.In order to fix this problem first of all you need to know how much is your RAM which you can check by right clicking on

After checking then go to my computer properties again click on ADVANCED>>SETTINGS OF PERFORMANCE>>ADVANCED again>>CHANGE>>CLICK ON CUSTOM SIZE AND MANUALLY CHANGE THE INITIAL SIZE TO 1.5 MULTIPLIED BY ORIGINAL SIZE OF THE RAM AND CHANGE THE MAXIMUM SIZE TO 3 MULTIPLIED BY ORIGINAL SIZE OF THE RAM>>>CLICK ON SET>>APPLY>>OK
Restart the computer..
Hopefully you will not face this problem again unless your virtual memory has been changed..

I don't think so. It is a little older, and has hard LAN port.
But you can get a WIFI card for probably like $20.

Your motherboard has a 1GB limit per slot so the 2 GB sticks are simply not recognized. Take them back and replace them with a 2x1GB set if you still want to upgrade the RAM.

Could you please clarify what you have done exactly ?
Have you formatted the machine ? or did you just cleaned up using some utilities available in the operating system ?
However in the mean time you can try going to http://www.emachines.com/support/drivers.html this link and choose the options available to select your appropriate machine and download the drivers for audio from there. Once they are downloaded you can install them and you probably will get back your pc's sound.
If this doesn't help please do reply with a clear problem statement and i will help you get around the problem.

Try opening it and taking out the little coin battery from the moatherboard for about 20 sec or more..put it back in and see if this works first....if it doesnt im not sure you can ...but let me know if this helps!!!

Your fan is dirty so its overheating, the pc is turning off to protect itself, you should open the tower and clean out the fan
