I hav a duoDVR 625 but its olny working for one tv

I will assume it was installed to two rooms when installed otherwise it will need to be wired to the second TV.

If it was indeed installed to two TVs at the first tv location with the TV1 remote press MENU-6-1-5. You should now be at the modulator set up screen. Note what channel TV2 is modulated to generally 60 air or 73 cable.

Now go to the TV2 location and run a cannel search. If it does not find the channel go back to tv 1 and change the TV channel to the opposite setting of air or cable based on what it was previously set to and try the channel scan at TV2 again.

If it still does not pick it up then most likely it is not wired for that room.
If the receiver was installed to one location Dish will need to wire the second location for you in order to achieve the desired outcome.

Cannot watch a different channel while recording

In order to do this with the 625 you must either place the receiver in single mode or change the Record Plus setting on the receiver.

To change to single mode you will need to pop open the small door on the right front of the receiver by gently pushing three to four inches from the right side of the receiver. Inside there will be multiple buttons press the one labeled mode. The blue light for TV2 will extinguish when it is in single mode and the amber mode light will switch from the duplex tile side to the single tile side.

The drawback to this is that the TV2 location now must watch the same program or something that was previously recorded on the DVR or utilize a peripheral such as an X-box or DVD player.

The other way results in the same outcome but to achieve this it will automatically default all recordings to be recorded at the TV2 location. Press menu on the TV1 remote then 8 - 5. You should now be at the Record Plus setting option. Use the arrow keys on the remote to manuever to the record preference setting and toggle up or down with the up down arrow keys to switch the preference to TV2. Now manuever to the activation option and toggle it to ENABLE in the same manner. Once comple select done and press the View Live TV button.

The reason you cannot watch and record at the same location and still have access to different programming at the second location is due to the receiver only having two tuners which means it only is capable of viewing two seprate programs at any given time. Once they both are in use by either TV1 or TV2 or both are watching independent programming the receiver is no longer able to access further tuners to display additional programs.

I could go into the technical aspects but it would not resolve the issue either. However if you desire this capability at both locations you can check into changing the receiver from a 625 to two 512's which will allow you the ability to so.

I hope this helps you out. Thanks for using Fix Ya and being a Dish Network customer.

DVR-625 DTV Receiver can it be used as a camera

YES, it will record ANYTHING as long as it is in correct format. You use the Composite Video, Yellow, Input. and the AV Audio, input, red & White. This should be no problem. You need a camera that is compatible, with your system, either PAL or NTSC.

HOW TO HOOK UP TWO SATELLITE RECIVERS THAT I HAVE

Ok since you have A 625 it uses different technology than the 4000 in a sense but I will assume that whomever connected the 625 use a Dish Pro Plus LNB. You can verify this by going out to the dish and looking at the LNB which is the eyes if you will on the dish. The cover facing you will read DP Plus, or Dish Pro, Dish Network, or you may have nothing at all on the housing. You will want it to say DP Plus for the easiest install.
On this LNB there are three ports. You will only need the two on the left if looking at it so you can not read the housing. One of the ports will be connected to a line running to the 625 and the other to the 4000. The line going to the 4000 should not contain any breaks in it after the ground block if one was used. Once inside the house connect the line from the lnb for the 4000 to the back of the receiver. Conect the receiver to the TV and run a check switch. This receiver will go into a test of 1 of 38 if all connections are good. A 1 of 50 indicates a loss of signal somewher on that side of the install.

The 625 can utilize di plexers but that type of install is to detailed to go into straight away so we will connect it using a straight feed to TV2. Run the cable from the LNB into th room with the 625. Inside connect that line to a siver device called a seperator that came with the receiver and connect the two leads from it to the sat in ports on the back of the receiver. Connect a line to the Home distribution port on the back of the receiver and run it to the room with the second tv you want to have DVR in such as a mater bedroom etc.Connect the cable from the tv out port on the receiver to the tv. Power all devices on and run a check switch. This test should read 1 of 3 if all connections are good. A bad connection will read 1 of 38 on the receiver. A total absence of signal will stay at 1 of 1 for a longt ime brfore going to 1 of 38.

You will need to call dish and activate the 4000 rx since it has not been on the account for some time and will need a software update that they will send to it via satellite.

Other obstacles could arise and if they do let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Cannot access channel 73 on TV2

If you are unable to access the TV menu using the buttons on the TV itself it is possible you can with the TV2 remote if it still controls the volume etc. for this TV. If it doe not you will need to find a code for your set in the manual for the receiver or you can go to the following link to find that info as well.http://tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/TechPortal/content/tech/receiver/625.shtml
Assuming you have control of the volume still press the small TV button on the top left of the remote. Now press the menu button and you may be able to access the TV's menu. If so you need to run a channel scan/auto program the TV. You may need to use the buttons on the TV still to maneuver through the menu.
If you are still unable to access the menu you may need to purchase a universal to access the menu.

The receiver is not reading control remote No.2.

It could be the distance the remote is from the antenna. Try going to the receiver and pressing the guide button on said remote. Go back to TV 2 and see if it is up. If not go back to tv 1 and with TV1 ON AND TV1 REMOTE IN HAND press MENU-MENU. You will be able to see the remote addreses for the remotes toward the bottom of the page. With TV2 remote in hand press and hold the SAT button in the upper left of the remote until all buttons across the top illuminate. Now press in a trwo digit number between 2 and 15. Press the pound sign and the SAT button will flash thrice. Now press record a few times until you see the TV2 icon on the screen blink and the address is the same as you keyed. Exit out of the menu with TV1 remote. Go to tv 2 and try. You should be good to go.

Dvr not responding

There was a software update early this morning which caused your recvr to go to recovery mode until it downloads the new software which takes about 4 hours. Once this is done you should be just fine!

How do i use the ant. passthrough on tv2 in dual

ANT. passthrough for an ant. connected to your 625 receiver will only work on tv 1. The only way to do this is to RF modulate your tv 2 coax to an RCA and hook the RcA cable to your tv2. then use another ant. to connect coax allowing you to pick up dish programing on an input and then going to the channels to enjoy local over the air programming.

It wont let us playback one of our recorded shows.

The first thing you want to do is to delte that one recording. Once its deleted make sure your other events are playing well. If all is good that just simply means that one event was corrupted. If the problem keeps happing please let me know there is also some other troubleshooting that we can do to see if its a deeper issue amybe with the hard drive.

DISH NETWORK RECEIVER 625 WONT STAY RUNNING???

Unfortunately, there is no way of saving your DVR, i would ask Dish for an upgrade to a Vip series rec, for example a 622 or 722 which can allow the use of an external hard drive. it also sounds like your root problem is with the voltage in the outet your dvr in connected to, try to plug directly into wall, if it is already, have an electrician check your voltage to prevent future issues.
