If your receiver is going into boot recovery - this is a DOS based program- you will be better served by getting it replaced. On newly installed receivers this can occur as a result in the manufacturing process or re-manufacturing process and not cause further issues.

My dvr-625 won't turn on.

If you havent set up an appointment yet, dish network receiver dont always run well off of power strips no matter how fancy they are, it has to do with the voltage pull off of the LNB, The LNB is the big white thing at the end of your dish. Chances are that your receiver has gone bad due to over heating or rough shipping, you can set up an appointment or call dish tell them the receivers cutting off they will mail you one and send you the postage for you to mail back the other one.

Guide shows info not available and is recording

Recording weird stuff:

sounds like you have accidently created timers.

hit the dvr button 3 times then arrow up to 'Timers'

arrow up to 'Edit List'

here you can select the timers you do not want then select delete

Info Not Available:

run a check switch test

hit menu 6 - 1 -1

highlight 'check switch' and press select

highlight ' test' and press select

wait for the test to finish

if an error pops up there is probably a signal issue, otherwise exit out

you will get attn 015 message, allow this to finish and you will get 330

this is the guide downloading... if this does not happen go to
menu - 6 - 6 and select yes

if it still does not download call dish network

My reciever is running really slow it takes 15 sec

Mine did it too, same time frame. I own mine, but after 3yrs. of reliable service Dish decided I needed a card and software update which I reluctantly did.

And sure as shootin', things started too screw up. I am positive it is the software screwing the 625's up. Sometimes recording sometimes not, Slow reaction time, Showing up on the 101 channel when I turn it on, System Integrity Tests EVERYDAY !?!?! what is it a nuclear reactor ? ect....

The real question is, was it done on purpose, or was it some "bright guys" screw up ?

Either way they win, the 625's will have to be upgraded $$$

I understand some people are/were screwin around with their DVR's. But I wasn't/aint one of them.

I'm gonna check out the Cable deals come spring.

aks4978

I'm not really sure exactly what you are saying. By "recharge" are you saying that you restarted your DISH Network service? If so, sometimes depending how long the service has been turned off, the receiver needs to have an authorization sent to it. For this to occur, you will need to call 1-800-333-3474 and speak with Tech Support. You can also perform a hard reset by unplugging the receiver from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds and plugging back in. This will cause the receiver to reboot and re-acquire satellite signal. I hope this helps.

Hi claramarie20there are a couple of things to look at when this happens. The first thing youwill want to do is replace the batteries in the remote, after you replace thebatteries you will need to press the MENU button and the numbers of 6-1-1. Itwill take you to the Point Dish screen and from there please select the CheckSwitch tab and then the Test button. After the test completes exit out of allmenus and the receiver will reboot and acquire the signal and it will stop the receiverfrom powering on and off.

With the TV 2 remote, it needs to be a UHF type remote. Since the signal goes through solid objects (walls, etc.), you should check to see if this remote has that capability. I have provided codes you can try to program the remote to the receiver. I hope this helps.

You can check your cables on the back of the receiver to make sure they are secure. Does this only happen with Sirius channels or all channels? If the cables are secure, you can unplug the receiver from your electrical outlet for 10 seconds and plug back in. This will cause the receiver to reboot and re-acquire satellite signal. I hope this helps.

Dead unit

I'm sorry to hear about your DISH Network DVR-625 receiver. If you don't mind me asking & to allow me to further assist you, what exactly do you mean by "dead unit"," For example, was it working and has suddenly stopped working? Does it power on, can you see any lights on the front of your receiver? Is it plugged directly into a electrical outlet on the wall, or is it plugged into a power strip/surge protector? If plugged into a power strip/surge protector, please attempt to bypass by plugging the receiver directly into an electrical outlet- if plugged into an electrical outlet please try a different outlet. I hope these few tips may help but if not and you need further assistance please feel free to contact me @ [email protected] :)

Unable to record or skip backr skip forward or

In this type of situation the solution would be to complete what is called a Front Panel Reset, this can be completed by completely unpluggin the receivers power cord from the wall and leaving unplugged for 10 seconds and then plug back in- but do NOT power your receiver back on. The receiver will complete a reset process which may take up to 5 minutes, during this time the receiver will power back on by itself and go through the necessary screens, once the receiver finishes downloading the program guide you will be able to verify if the DVR issues are resolved. If this problem happens repeatedly or has already happened repeatedly, please contact me directly so I can assist you and we can rectify the DVR issue with another option. If the issue has not been resolved already or you are still experiencing please e-mail me at [email protected]. I hope this helps you!

I have been having DISH DVR problems lately. The

You always want to ensure you have the updates being completed at a time that is most convenient for you, you can change the update time which is generally set to 3am, by going into your MENU selecting option 8 (Preferences) and then selecting option 4 (Updates) you will then be able to change the time the receiver completes updates if you desire and then please just make sure you are shutting your receiver off nightly to allow the updates to be successfully completed (this will help to prevent DVR issues). In addition, once you delete some of your recordings, powering it off nightly allows the hard drive to be refreshed and clears the deleted recording entirely. I hope this helps!

When you're pressing any of the buttons on your DISH Network remote, is there any mode button such as TV, SAT, or AUX,that lights up? To provide further explanation- when you are trying to change the channel up or down, or power on the receiver, as you press any of those buttons the "SAT" mode button should temporarily light up & then turn off to let you know the remote is in the correct mode to control your satellite receiver, this button is in the upper left hand corner of your remote that says "DISH Network" at the bottom. If this is not happening, then I would suggest replacing the current batteries with fresh batteries, if the problem continues with no mode buttons lighting up, then we will need to replace your remote. If you haven't resolved this issue already and need me to order you a new remote for you, please feel free to contact me direct & I will be more then happy to get a new remote ordered for you! You can change the preference that you have set up and have it record to TV2. Go to Menu, then 8 - Preferences, and 5 - Record Plus. Change it to enabled, if not already, and TV2 for preference.
