was the olympus plugged in when you installed the drivers? If so disconnect it and remove the software you installed. Re- install and only plug the olympus in when you have finished. What operating system are you using?

the voice recorder should work instantly when plugged into the mac, it should show up as a removable stroage device, or a removable drive, like any other external hard drive or usb stick would on a mac.

you don't need a driver to transfer or listen to the recordings from the recorder on a mac.
