I have a sony DAV-HDX500 system. Recently I had to move it and now I can not get an FM or AM sound out of the system. XN works just fine. The wire FM and AM antns. are connected ? Any ideas?

There's always the possibility that when hi-fi or electronic systems are moved, that they will get knocked about it. This might loosen solder joints or crack pc boards. A visual examination of the inside of the unit might reveal one of these.

MY SONY HBD-DZ810 HOME THEATER IS CONSTANTLY SHOWING PUSH POWER PROTECTOR

The "PROTECT" and "PUSH POWER" messages will flash alternately when the protective device of the amplifier has been activated because a strong signal was input, or if there is a short-circuit detected. Press the POWER button on the unit to turn off the system, and check the following items after "STANDBY" disappears. 1) Are the + and - speaker cords short-circuited? 2) Are you using only the specified speakers?. 3) Is anything blocking the ventilation holes of the system? You may also refer to the following link for additional troubleshooting steps. PROTECT and PUSH POWER flash alternately on the amplifier screen

I remove all the speaker wires but the push power protector still appears.

The Protect Push Power display flashes in sony systems when ever there is an issue with the amplifier, as you say there is no improvement even after you unplugged the speaker terminals, that means it is some internal problem. to confirm the same, suggest to press the function + next + eject buttons together it will show the cause for the error display, either it will be DC detect or SD detect. If so then suggest you to refer an authorized sony technician as the unit used almost 90 % smd technology and any inexperienced person can tamper it very badly. If you are a qualified to handle SMD repairs then my hint for repairs would be to check in the final output stage or stage prior to that(CXD-9788 IC) Also check for the 32V supply apears at the connector. the exact part cannot be pinpointed without testing the circuit thoroughly.

No TV audio coming from Sony DAV-HDX500.

If you are trying to make your TV audio come out your Sony system, you didn't say what the input to your TV was from (ex;Cable TV,Sat TV).

Sometimes it is easier to take the external (cable or Sat) out puts and feed the video into the TV but the red white into the AMP (TV input)then select TV on your AMP to hear TV.

Also some tv's need to make a speaker choice! go to Set up and change the speaker set up for the TV, you may have to tell the TV no speakers to create out put to Amp from the REd White TV out put.

Please help with getting 5.1 sound from my TV!

You must run a Digital Optical cable from your PS3 to your reciever. Then press your function button on your recievers remote until you see SAT/CABLE on your recievers display. Next go to your PS3 settings and go to Sound settings, then Audio Output settings, and select Digital out (OPTICAL) then your done. This is the only way to get true digital sound from your PS3 to your reciever.

Hi, we a Sony DAV-HDX500 System and will not play DVD, it continously says

In most cases when the CD does not play it is possible that the optical head is a suspect. Sometimes it might pick up ordinary audio CD but will not play other formats. This indicates that the optical head is weak and so there is no detection or scanning of the CD. If the optical is working the tracks will be read immediately but with no scanning the laser head can be defective. The main motor will not work in some cases as unless the tracks are read the drive motor will not work with signal from the processor. Also in some cases the central motor base can shift and so the distance to the disc can be more resulting in low detection. You can pull up the spindle to come closer. Sometimes certain cleaner disks will not be tracked to run for cleaning as it will not be read and so will reject. Hence it is ideal to manually clean the laser head eye using a cleaning swap /cotton bud with gentle pressure on the lens eye.If there is no result then watch if the CD spins or tries to spin. If so the board seems to work unless a test is taken on the main board but the possibility of a defective optical head can be the suspected fault.

Hi, whenever i am trying

This indicates that you have a blown output amplifier or shorted speaker wire. Disconnect all the speaker wires and try to turn it on once more. If it shows the same display give it to a service

Dvd player not ejecting showing

I imagine it doesn't do ANYTHING you want it to do, much less eject a disc.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Won't turn on just the notice push power

It is possible that the amplifier had encountered a fault with a higher current drain which had triggered it to a protection fault condition. The fault can be your output drivers- the MOSFETS/IC's fitted for both the channels, Use a meter after disconnecting to check for short in the drivers. Disconnect the positive and negative voltages to the output and see if the protect changes. Even a fault in the preamp stages that drives in high current into the output can shut the Amplifier. Sometimes this can be a noise like a HUM or HISS before the protect works. Faulty capacitors in these circuits also can cause similar issues and needs close observation.
You need to confirm and replace the specific stages or outputs. If not there can be issues in the mother board, maybe the protect circuit by itself is shutting off due to a faulty bias , maybe a leak in any voltage/current sensing circuit. Also disconnect the speakers and test, if the protect is off then check for short on the speakers.
