have you checked your settings menues yet regions should be selectable
for that new of a player

i recomend buring your dvds with out a region code or atleast a region code that conforms to your standard player ! search downloads.com for an aplication to do this

Unplug unit from AC wall socket for minute or so to get it reset, replug it and turn it On that might reset CD mechanism and stuck CD come out.
If that does not solve the problem, CD mechanism will be inspected for any gear damaged that causing problem. You may be need tech to fix it.

Straight to power protect mode indicates crossed wires somewhere or otherwise miswired system. Disconnect all the speakers and try to power on to see if it still goes into protect mode.

If it does, read the manual for troubleshooting tips, or return the unit as defective.

If it does not then replace the speakers one by one until it returns. Check the wires going into that speaker, that speaker may be defective or you may be wiring it wrong.

optical cable connection in tv is only input and same in receiver it is both inputs.you need to find the right encoding in your receiver mode/set-up

Pull out the power plug and leave it for a few minutes. Now plug it back it in and get ready to press EJECT or OPEN/CLOSE button continuously until it releases the disk.

Please check the video connections properly, if you are having any problem with the sound system you wont get even sound and hence please check the video connection wiring properly to resolve your issue.

As long as the cables are properly connected you shouldn't lose quality in the sound. If its the front speaker cables you want to extend then contact sony and ask them for the rear cables which you can then substitue for the front ones which are considerably shorter.

Some Film DVD's with THX logo on them have a set up system to get the best sound balance for speakers.

The DMPORT adapter comes with the surround sound and you just have to plug it in the back of your sound box and youve got it!

You need two HDMI cords. One for the TV one for the DVD.

Plug the digital cable box audio strait into the dvd player. Plug video from the digital box into your tv.

Thats what i did and it works perfectly.

I just finished setting up my system last night and was facing similar problems with sound/video from my PS3. The only option I could get working was to have the HDMI cable connected from the PS3 to the TV and then connect the Optical cable to the receiver for sound. I was under the impression that HDMI handles sound and video but for whatever reason the PS3 does not agree.

I have DTS sound and fantastic picture now through my PS3, hope this helps.

Check the cables that connect the TV to the home Theater system.

If there is a bad cable, with a short inside then the fault can cause the TV shutting down.

Try a replacement cable, if the cable is fine , then the system is defective. In that case call teh service number listed on teh manual and have it replaced.

Not sure if this is a solution or not but we had the same problem and changed the RGA cables from Component 2 to AV2 and it worked! we now have color.
