Sony BRAVIA DAV-HDX267W Theater System with Wireless Speaker Kit System - Page 2 Questions & Answers
I have a subwoofer with standard speaker wire
The Subwoofer is Likely Passive....meaning no amplifier is within the enclosure itself....the incompatible connectors mean you cannot connect the subwoofer itself to your surround sound system.
look for a Suitable stand-alone (1 Channel) Amplifer with sufficent power.....connect the RCA Imputs (subwoofer cable) to the Recievers RCA subwoofer output....then connect the amplifier's output to the the wire going into the subwoofer enclosure....if there is a plastic connector simply cut it off and strip the wires down a sufficent lenght....then secure the wires to the output of the amplifier.
if you do this make sure you know the ohm rating of the subwoofer and the minimum ohm rating of the amplifier your using.
It says push power protector on my new sony surround system
Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.
Causes that can start protect mode are:
Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.
Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.
Internal fault.
Internal
fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not
work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In
this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an
experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you
want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the
product documentation.
Regards.
WIRELESS SPEAKER KIT
That sounds like the transmitter is shorted or faulty. Protection is a diagnostic mode that will prevent the unit from starting because of a fault.
Below a little essay on protection mode, but in your case you should simply replace the transmitter.
Call the phone number listed on the owner documentation to get a replacement.

Need Dish Network Code for Sony DAVHDX275 Audio System
Refer to page 82 in your Dish Network User's Guide......(Make sure Sony system is powered on and in DVD mode with a disc in the player). Point Dish remote at Sony box - Hold Aux until all buttons light up at top....press 2 - then STAR button* and then POWER button - then press the up arrow key repeatedly until Sony turns off - press # key to lock in code.
It took me awhile to get it to work....it will only work power, mute, and volume - not dvd play functions.
Refer to page 85 to make the Dish remote control the Sony box volume by default.
Good luck.
Sony Bravia Dav-HDX279W and comcast HDTV Cable box connection.
Like above, use an optical connection (need fiber optic cable) or a coaxial connection (single RCA cable). HDMI might also work, but I personally haven't checked. Connect the audio outs from the cable box to the audio ins on the home theater. The TV will only need a video connection from the cable box, as well as one from the home theater (for DVDs, onscreen menus).
This discussion can help you set up the universal remote.
Remote Codes for Comcast remote
Here is where the comcast remote codes (3 in 1) silver are listed:
http://www.comcast.com/remotes/tvcodes.html
Just to be sure, here are the different Comcast remote devices listed on their website. Click on one of them, and a 2-page PDF will open. It will explain how to load your code, and on the second page, list all the codes for your different electronic equipment.

Sony Trinirton TV and DAV-HDX 275 System
Here are a couple of the most common reasons for your problem:
Make sure you have selected the right input source on the DAV-HDX275 that your TV station source (cable, satellite, direct TV or whatever you get TV stations from) is connected to on the DAV-HDX275.
Also make sure that if you are using a digital input (HDMI, optical, or coaxial) from the TV station source, that the DAV-HDX275 in set for a digital input and on the right source.
If you are using an analog source (red and white RCA jacks) for the TV stations , make sure you do not have the digital input activated for that source on the DAV-HD275. You need to select the analog option.
You must also be sure that you have a cable, whether it is analog or digital, connected from the cable box to the DAV-HD275.
I hope this was helpful to you, it is always very important to double check all the connections and make sure the stereo is set to the right type of input (digital or analog).
If you have found this to be helpful, a good rating is always appreciated. Thanks and let me know if you need any more help.
No sound from our Sony Wireless Home Cinema System
Basic checks first. Have you checked they are connected properly? Maybe used a different cable to check whether the rear cables are faulty? You may just have turned your system to 2.1 surrououn sound by accident or be playing a format that only supports 2.1. Check that in the system menu under dec. mode that if it is set to AFD STD that you are playing a DVD which shows can support 5.1 on the back of its cover. Also try running the setup manually and choosing your speaker configuration. Hope this helps.
Can't get XBOX 360 to have audio through surround sound speaker
Make sure that you have the RC Cables (red and white) plugged into the audio ports that coincides with the component video inputs. If that wont work then try plugging the audio and video cables into the inputs for the satellite, since that works. That way you can isolate the issue. If it still wont work try using the XBOX 360 HDMI cable. That has both audio and video.
Problems with hearing sound from bravia LCD tv through bravia DAV-HDX275 theatre system
The fiber optic port on back on your bravia tv is only for when your using a over the air antenna and watching local atsc channels in your local market. You need to run the fiber optic from your hd cablebox if it has one or your hd sat box if it has one. If you don't have a set top box with the fiberoptic port on it you can use a digital coax cable from the cable or sat box to sound system. The only other way to get sound if you don't have a cable or sat box is to run the red and white rca audio cable from the tv to the sound system and got to the audio setup on tv and turn the tv speakers off and you might have to adjust the audio to fixed instead of variable.
