Frequencies in the range you mention may be part of a trunked system that your scanner cannot follow, but you can still enter and monitor the frequency. Yes, your BC340CRS will handle frequencies with up to five decimal places, as long as the last two digits are 25, 50, 0r 75 (see page 16 of the BC340CRS Owner's Manual). The best programming instructions for your scanner are also in that manual. If you don't have a copy, you can download and print it, at no cost, here:

How to delete old frequencies on bc340crs?

To reset the scanner to factory defaults, turn off the scanner. Then, while holding down 2, 9, and HOLD, turn on the scanner. All scanner memory contents are erased.

My radio wont play. I have kept it on a local station. Its been playing well but now its gone.

Hello Lois, It is very possible that your county/city may have transferred all communications to a digital format. Analog radio systems are now becoming obsolete, and public safety agencies are migrating to digital solutions. Please refer to www.radioreference.com to see if your locale has changed their communications system recently. If not, please get back with me, and I will do my best to assist. Thank You, Gavin GE Communications
