Parts are not available for this model radio. Speakers generally are damaged from debris or moisture getting into the speaker. They are especially susceptible to small metal fragments due to the magnetic properties of the speaker.

yes, but no. The radio is designed for low power and a short antenna to limit range. This was to reduce interference with Licensed FCC radios. Since I will provide a few ideas, these are to experiment with radio waves, NEVER to break the law. So.....ideas to increase antenna: most simple, tape coax to the antenna lead. It will pick up a small amount of the radiated signal and sent it to the longer antenna. Strip the rubber and even the mesh, the center copper sends the signal. Best if under 10 feet. Other than this, you either cut open the rubber antenna or best of all, open the radio and soldier to the antenna connection on the main board. Remember: low power radios cannot send a signal far. Use good quality coax, RG58, never cable TV coax. Short length has a better opportunity of working. 30' you will lost all the signal in the coax. Other ideas? Yep, lots. email us. :)

TURN OFF AUTO PTT

No polarity. The adaptor puts out AC , low voltage. Just traced the schematic and found out.

Vox means voice activated, as you speak, it should transmit

Couldn't find the user guide for the T5000, but did find the T4900 and the T5100. You might try looking in them to see how to restore your settings. Not all TalkAbout radios seem to have a quick reset function. You may need to restore the unit by taking it back to a basic mode. A few items to check:Be certain both radios are set to the same:FrequencyInterference Eliminator CodeQt filterFor a simple test set the Code, Qt filter, and any other special features to off or zero. This will allow you to find out if the radios will work simply on their frequency.
