Playback is too fast using Pinnacle Quick start version 10

This sounds like a Frames per second setting issue.
Just a guess, but you recorded at 15 FPS & the player is regurgitating at 24 (or 30) fps.

Audio/video synchronization problem

I have tried several versions of Pinnacle products over the years, and have had serious problems with ALL of them. Constant crashes, re-boots, glitches, dropped frames, etc. Sound lagging behind the picture is one of many problems, and can be avoided only be capturing short clips and editing them together. A real pain. i finally gave up on Pinnacle and bought Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum. It has a longer learing curve than Pinnacle, but in the long run it has more features and is very stable. Sony Vegas also works with Vista. Pinnacle 10 does NOT, depsite what Pinnacle and the salespeople tell you.

Pinnacle Studio 10 DVD -NTSC Bonus disc

The installer for Studio 12 (upgrade version) includes a "Transfer Files" option which permits you to install previous bonus discs from Studio 10 and 11 and transfer to 12. However, you have install 12 first (of course).

For those with Vista 64bit systems, Studio 10 will not install on your Vista 64bit OS pc. However, if you have the Studio 10 disc, you can purchase the Studio 12 upgrade version. During the installment process, you will be directed on how to utilize the Studio 10 disc to advance the installation process.

Won't install, is it because it's a mac?

Yes; Mac programs will only work on Macs and likewise windows programs will only work on windows. They are two completely different operating systems and therefore the programs have to be written for each environment.

Problems with Pinnacle Studio Quickstart version 10

I found a download patch on the knowledge network at pinnaclesys.com website. They don't advertise the fix, but I searched for "installation failure studio 10" and found an entry for downloading pixie5updater. Apparently there is a problem with some dual-core machines with IE7.

There is no guarantee this is going to work right because you have to split the video signal and the audio lines to do it. Using an RCA Y cable you need to split the Yellow Video output line so that one line goes into the tv and the other goes into the dazzle. Same thing with the red and white audio lines. By splitting it, it will make the signal weak causing the tv display to produce a poor picture quality as well as the dazzle. You will have to give it a shot and see if that doesn't happen.

Deletion

Manually Uninstalling Startup Control Panel Startup Control Panel is supposed to appear in Add/Remove Programs so that you can uninstall it easily. Unfortunately, at some point several years ago, something changed in Windows such that this entry is not created properly on new installations. Sorry about this. Here are detailed instructions for uninstalling the program manually.
Step 1. Close Startup Control Panel If Startup Control Panel itself is open, close it by pressing the X in the upper-right corner of the window.
Step 2. Close Control Panel If the Control Panel window, where you access the icons for all the different control panels (Display, Fonts, Sound, etc.), is open, close it by pressing the X in the upper-right corner of the window.
Step 3. Delete program file Delete the following files, if they exist. Only one of them should exist.
  • C:\Windows\System32\Startup.cpl
  • C:\Windows\System\Startup.cpl
Detailed instructions for step 3:
Navigate in Windows Explorer to the directory C:\Windows\System32 . Click away any warning messages until you see a long list of hundreds of files. Find the file named either "Startup" or "Startup.cpl". Delete the file by right-clicking on it and selecting "Delete" from the menu that pops up. Confirm the deletion and then verify that SCP has been removed. Do not delete any other files or directories: doing so can damage your operating system.
If you can't find the file in that folder, also look in C:\Windows\System . If you get an error message saying that the file is in use, verify that SCP and Control Panel are closed; if so, try restarting your computer and deleting the file as soon as the computer starts up again.
Step 4. Delete registry entries (optional) I do not recommend performing this step. It is only for advanced users who want to expunge every last trace of Startup Control Panel from their system. If you do not perform this step, a little bit of information stored by SCP will remain in your system registry. This information will not affect or slow down your system in any way if it is allowed to remain. Removing this information requires using the Registry Editor, which, if improperly used, can seriously damage your software and operating system. Proceed at your own risk!
Start the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and delete the following keys and all their subkeys, if they exist:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\mlin\StartupCPL
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\mlin\StartupCPL
Hope this may help you;

DazzleVideo Creator

Just give the one who sold you the software a call and tell them you cannot find the product key. Normally it should be on the CD itself or atleast on the CD protector. If it is not there it is possible the sticker for it may have been removed. Worst case you can call the manufacturer or developer and they should be able to provide you with another one.
