Hello,If you are able to connect an external monitor, do so. (If you can make it a newer lcd type) Sounds like your monitor's display is set to the wrong setting (refresh and pixel) With an newer lcd, you should be able to see your screen and reset the display to the lowest setting. Reconnect your Sony monitor. (if the external work and you are able to reset the settings, you do not need to power off your pc, just switch the monitor cable from the external to the regular monitor. Good LuckC2Solutioins

One long beep + 3 short beeps denotes a video problem for Sony Vaio. Unfortunately it doesn't get more specific. If you have a video card, try re-seating the card. Try using a different monitor. Try upgrading the drivers (probably here: http://www.driverboost.com/lp/drivers/update/ati-video-drivers.php ) of course you will have to go to a different PC to download them onto a CD/dvd and try to run them. You might consider trying to boot into safe mode and doing a system restore. It could be many things. Without more information I can't really be of much more help. Hope one of these works for you.
