also take your time when installing the chip.
1. its sensitive to static.
2.buy a low heat soldering iron.
3.do each solder point at a time, wait a few seconds for the IC to cool off. then approach the next.
also open your ttx and see what exact IC you need. Mine was a Toshiba TA7259P. Also when you order that, order small tube of thermal paste.

Just so you know, there is no actual 'motor' driving the platter. It's a direct drive unit, so it's made up of various circuits driving the unit.

With that said, anyone of those circuits could have gone bad. The good thing, is that most of the circuits (resistors, IC's, capacitors, diodes, etc), are relatively cheap ($2-10), the bad thing is replacing them, and finding out which ones are faulty. You could usually tell which resistors are burnt or caps are blown, but it's harder to test the IC's without the proper equipment.

This is not a cheap turntable, unless you think $300 is cheap for a turntable. Repair wise, your probably looking at about $80-120 for parts and labor. It's a well build turntable, and I think worth investing in trying to get it repaired. Just make sure you get an estimate before any work is done.

Is your turndable belt driven? If so replace the belt.

1> be sure the service switch is in the PLAY position.
2> It's impossible to determine if the selections are not being written in to memory, or read out from the memory. it could be either.
You most likely have to have the control center looked at, common with a machine this old. The capacitors in your control unit on the back door have probably gone bad, which they do after 25-40 years. Your jukebox is from 1960, so it's time to have both the amplifier and control unit rebuilt. Not what you wanted to hear, but it has to be done. If you're handy and can solder and read a schematic, you can buy the kits on eBay or do a Google search for Bill Bickers or Vern Tisdale. Both sell the rebuild kits.(Feb 27, 2010)

The tubes are only in the audio amp portion of the stereo, and have nothing to do with the motor that turns the turntable.

Most likely it's that the grease on the motor is old and gummy, but becomes less viscous when it warms up.

Fader has to be ether cleaned or replaced if cleaning did not work.

A drop or two of light oil at the center of the spindle will surely solve the problem.Remove the platter and check if its clean

some tables require the tonearm to be over the record area before the patter starts to spin. If thats not it, have you tried "jump starting" the platter with your finger? the direct drive "stepper" motor might be confused as to where it is at the moment. and finally remove power from the wall for a few minutes then retry.

I would ask the company you bought it from, they will have a list if repaires or take it to a good HiFi repair shop.

If your Numark 5000FX mixer is not registering your Technics turntable on any of the channels, there are a few things you can try:

1. Check your cables: Make sure that your RCA cables are plugged in correctly and securely. If you are using a phono preamp, make sure that it is powered on and connected properly.
2. Check your switch settings: Make sure that the switches on the back of the mixer are set correctly for the type of input you are using (line or phono).
3. Check your levels: Make sure that the input levels are turned up and that the fader for the channel you are using is not muted or turned all the way down.
4. Check your ground wire: If you are using a turntable, make sure that the ground wire is connected properly to the mixer.

If none of these steps work, there may be an issue with either the turntable or the mixer. Try testing the turntable on a different mixer or testing a different turntable on the Numark mixer to determine which component is causing the issue. If the mixer is the issue, it may need to be repaired or replaced.

Check the connections for a bad earth link.

Question edited to throw in a few capital letters for Proper Names and abbreviations. It doesn't need to read the cleaning CD as the act of looking for the tracks is enough to brush the optics clean. If that didn't work, you need a audio tech.

not told model numbers of both impossible to be specific but this read he EQ manual yet?

Make sure you install the software in the CD provided with the iDJ3. IF you already have, try to uninstall, restart and then reinstall. Sounds like the drivers for your device was not properly loaded to your PC which cause it not to recognize. That will be located probably on the model number plate on the turntable itself. Or somewhere on the turntable itself. Since it's unique to the turntable nobody else will have it.
