My charger displayed cold/hot pack

This is indicating the battery is too hot to charge, usually after coming off the tool right after some hard work. During the charging process the battey heats up so if you charge a hot battery, thereby making it hotter, you shorten the lifespan of the battery considerably. If you are getting a hot/cold pack delay indication on the charger, it should automatically start charging once the battery has cooled down sufficently.

Hi I have dewalt xrp drill. It's chuck still spins when trigger is released(off position). It slows down eventually but it's not as it used to be (was stopping immedi) What broke and needs replacing?

Most likely you have a bad switch - the other issue can be worn brushes or brushes that are getting hung up in the brush tubes.

Dewalt drill melts battery

There may be a short in the motor or wiring, or the gearbox is broken or otherwise seized up. Dewalt provides replacements for most parts at reasonable prices, so it's worth taking the drill apart to find out what is going on. I suspect you will find damaged wiring inside due to overheating; you may be able to identify the problem by seeing where the wire insulation is charred or melted. Unless you have a good drill of the same model so you can compare electrical resistance, it's a bit hard to ID a bad motor with an ohmmeter. However, you can try visual and olfactory inspection - if it looks and smells burned, it probably is. You still should check the transmission to make sure it isn't the source of the problem. Why does battery charger blink twice no matter where its plugged in?

You may have a failing capacitor on the secondary side of charger power supply circuitry. The output voltage will be low or have a lot of ripple; this would cause the error detected. Pictured below is a bad electrolytic capacitor next to several good ones (this is not from a battery charger). Notice how the top is bulged upward instead of being flat - it indicates pressure caused by the capacitor burning out. ae38ee76-6dc4-4808-8a4b-afe8be8c00cd.jpeg There are other failures that could cause this error code, but this one is highly probable.

Broken dewalt battery 18v lithium ion

When a Dewalt charger is showing a fast blinking red light it means the battery is no longer chargeable. It may be because of a bad cell or short inside the battery. Whatever the reason the charger will not charge the battery and it needs to be replaced.

How do you know if the trigger is bad? getting dc

It's not unusual for Dewalt triggers to go bad and it appears you have correctly tested the trigger. You can test the motor by wiring it directly to the battery but hold on to it and only give it a short burst of power so it doesn't spin out of the case. Dewalt triggers are fairly easy to find online but shop around, they're not cheap.

My dewalt 18v xrp battery

Depending on how old or more to the point how many times you have already charged the battery, it may be worn out. All rechargeable batteries do reach a point where they won't charge up anymore. If you have fully discharged the battery and tried to fully charge it up again and it won't take a charge or only lasts a few minutes on a charge it may be time to recycle it and buy a new one.

Revive drill driver battery packs

Rechargeable batteries do have a lifespan, they won't recharge forever. If you have fully discharged the batteries then fully recharged them and they still don't have full power or they only last a couple minutes then they are done. If they won't charge or the charger shows them as defective, the only fix is to replace them.

When I pull the trigger on my Dewalt dc925 xrp hammer drill it's working for a bit then stopping and starting

it sounds like you have a problem with the switch or battery. Try cleaning the battery contacts first and then remove the battery and look into the tool and see if the switch contacts are bent not allowing battery to seat firmly. If that is OK then I would think that you need a new switch. MAKE note of how you remove it because it is polarity sensitive. Let me know if you need more assistance.
