Thank you for using FixYa. To change the chuck on your cordless drill, open the old chuck jaws to the maximum. Inside the chuck where it attatches to the drill body, there is a Philips headed bolt. Unscrew the bolt in a CLOCKWISE direction. Reverse this procedure to fit the new chuck.
Hope this helps

You can do it your self stay away from the cordless drills get a carbide drill bit and a tube fill it with some water so it covers the peice of porcelain you want the hole in. Ihave know idia what a 2 or 3 tiered serving piece is. But if its made out of porcelain but if you have a high speed drill and bit and you can keep the peice cool you can drill perfect holes in it. It may take some time if the hole is 1/2 inch or more depending on how thick the meteral is put a peice of wood under the peice so you don't drill through the bottom of the tube. But small holes 1/4of an inch are much quicker to do. I dought you can find anyone else to do this for you And it sounds vary artsy but this how its done with tile and you can drill perfect holes in porcelain just go slow and steady and keep it under water at all times. good luck
Hi i took the screw out of chuck put allen wrench
The chuck is put on extremely tight even the ones with a set screw. You have to hit the allen wrench HARD, almost to the point to where you think you may break it. I have also had good results using an air hammer with an allen socket. Just make sure you're turning it in the opposite direction the screw turned coming out.
Would like to replace the chuck on my 14.4
Remove the REVERSE-THREAD screw at the bottom of the chuck. Set the clutch collar to the highest setting, and set the gear to the slowest setting on the transmission. Remove the power source! Get the biggest allen wrench you can fit in the end of the chuck(the shortest leg) and tighten the chuck down around it, allowing the jaws to rest and tighten on the flats of the wrench. Lay the drill on its side(chuck toward you, handle to the left, and allen wrench to the left, horizontal to the deck). Then with a hammer(soft hammer if you care about the allen wrench) quickly and deliberately hit the allen wrench in an attempt to cause the allen wrench to spin counter clockwise. Let me know if this works for you!

Having trouble removing chuck on
Copied from one of my posts this morning:
Remove the REVERSE-THREAD screw at the bottom of the chuck. Set the clutch collar to the highest setting, and set the gear to the slowest setting if this drill has a 2 speed transmission. Remove the battery! I have performed this with the battery in back in my noob days, and getting an allen wrench in your rib because you accidently hit the trigger will only happen once. You will never forget that experience. Get the biggest allen wrench you can fit in the end of the chuck(the shortest leg) and tighten the chuck down around it, allowing the jaws to rest and tighten on the flats of the wrench. Lay the drill on its side(chuck toward you, handle to the left, and allen wrench to the left, horizontal to the deck. Then with a hammer(soft hammer if you care about the allen wrench) quickly and deliberately hit the allen wrench in an attempt to cause the allen wrench to spin counter clockwise. Let me know if this works for you, and if not, explain what is happening.
