How to change the bushes on a Dewalt DW928 14.4V

You will need to get part # 389025-00 which is the brush pair kit. Remove the 8 torx screws from the right side handle half. Make sure you have the drill on its side and pry the handle half off carefully. Make sure not to disturb the insides too much. You could possibly mess up the transmission setup if care is not taken. After removing the handle half you want to take out the motor, switch and transmission all together. Remove the motor from the transmission taking care not to let all the insides of the transmission fall out. You will not like having to figure out how all those gears go back into the transmission. If you have a piece of duct tape handy, I suggest putting it over the transmission so you don't hit it accidentally and send small gears flying. ( I have done this on numerous occasions) Once your transmission is safely away from the motor you can pry out the whole brush block with a flathead screwdriver. The brush block just slides out. I suggest you do one side at a time and replace both the brush box and wire. Make sure you use the correct color wire and replace it exactly as saw the original. DC switches and motors can be damaged if you wire it incorrectly. All it takes is one squeeze of the trigger to ruin either when wired wrong. After replacing the brush blocks you can reassemble the drill. Take note that there are tabs on the transmission that have to line up properly with the handle half in order to seat properly. Any questions please post and I will answer.

Chuck won't hold bit when making drilling a hold or trying to reverse a screw, etc.

it sounds like you will need to replace the chuck on the drill. a worn chuck or a cheep brand may be your trouble.buy a good Jacob chuck and this will most likely fix your problem

I have a Hitachi WH 18 DFL cordless impact driver, which I love. I was doing a little bit of heavy drilling, and now the drill bit is stuck. The sleeve extends as if to release the bit, but the bit do

My guess is that the bit twisted a little in the bit holder so the steel ball is bound. If the collar moves you could try a slide puller on the bit and see if you can impact it out with the slide puller. Or you could take the bit holder apart. There is a retaining ring that holds it all together right on top. Pull that off and a washer, spring and the collar will come off. Becarefull to watch for the steel balls on the spindle. They WILL fall out! Now hopefully the bit will come out. If not it may need to be twisted in the oposite direction that it got stuck when you were using it to break it free. Hope that helps and good luck!

Yes.

Go to dewaltservicenet.com and look up your model. (Hint: Press the "Go" button on the screen not the Enter button on your keyboard to submit your model in the field). Make sure you have your type number available.

If your transmission is in a million pieces I can help you get it back together. There is no diagram for the transmissions.

How to change the chuck on 18 volt cordless drills

Set the drill to reverse. Hold the chuck, press the trigger and open the drills chuck to it wide open position. Now,, take the correct size allen wrench and insert it into the back of the chuck to remove the screw. Turn the screw clockwise to remove it. Notice I said clockwise, just the opposite of what you might think. Hold the chuck with your hand or a pair of large vise grips and press the trigger to unscrew the chuck from the drill. Rotate it counterclockwise to remove it from the drill. Reverse the procedure to install the new chuck.

The battery is stuck in the charger. There is a

Hi, although Im not familiar with this model they are roughly the same. First, unplug the charger. Has the battery been inserted the correct way round? Press firmly on both the locking buttons on the battery while pulling away from the charger, do not use excessive force at any stage(Ensure Charger is not plugged in at the mains)Allow the charger to cool before trying again if unsuccessful. Is there any sign of overheating on the charger or battery? Is there any smell of overheating or burning? If there has been a fault with either charger or battery its not uncommon for them to weld themselves together!! If this has happened Im afraid a new battery & charger. Please let me know how you get on(you can use a desk fan to speed-up the cooling process.) Jon..
