Cannot connect to admin for router with 192.168.0.1

first connect your computer to one of the LAN ports of the router...
Then check your ip address for LAN under network connections...

If you get any 169.254.X.X ip address then you need to reset the router...

if you get some other ip address then note down the default gateway and try with that...

try this...

goto run > type "cmd" and hit enter >> command prompt will open...

in command prompt type this

start iexplore 192.168.0.1

and hit enter

Maybe the router is already defective. I guess you should replace it with a new one. Because you cannot also repair that due to its already component level type of repair.

Configure d-link wbr 2310 and now wont connect

Hi mech_warrior,

Press the reset button of the d-link router for 30 seconds, unplug and plug the power cord.

MAC cloning is used for Cable ISP configuration but that should not affect the router's functionality (odd router behavior) ;-)

That should do it!

Router without disc

Normally, you can just plug it in and go. Most routers will allow connections with basic settings. IF you must have the easy-start disc, you can also get the program either online via download by searching on the manufacturer's website, or you can order the disc from the manufacturer.

You could also buy a new one, use the disc, then take it back to the store and say it's not "right for you". They'll return it and give you your money back.

Trying to figure out how to set up my wireless

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Lost passcode hit reset & it said jumpstart-p1-97492d

Just reset your router and use (admin) for user name and password. To reset your router you can see a small hole in your router which is labeled reset. Use a pin and insert it to the hole and push.

I have a 2310 router,

jburrell

Since you have had your router for 3 years it is possible that it is on its last leg. I know the one I have at home is needing to be replaced as I am having to reboot it every couple of days.

The easy way to test the router is to reconfigure it like when you first got the router. Now looking over your manual it look like the setup process is the same as one that I did the other day.

Let me know if it does not work for you. Also if you do not have your setup CD any more your can download the setup software from this link.
