How do get a forgotten password?

There is really no way to get a forgotten password. If the password you forgot was for the actual wifi access, then you can directly connect a computer to the router and log into it adn change the wifi password. If the password you forgot was for access to the actual router to change settings, then you will need to press and hold the reset button on the back or bottom of the router while you unplug and plug the router back in. This will reset the router back to factory default.

Try resetting it to factory defaults. Consult the manual for specifics. Usually, you unplug the router, hold the reset button, plug it back in, and then release the reset button after about 60 seconds, but it could be different for this particular model. Who configured your network previously? You or someone else?

Does not pick up internet connection.

First off, try plugging your pc directly into the modem to be sure your net connection is working. If so, try reseting the router back to factory defaults. usually just holding the reset button on the back of the router for 30 sec will make this happen.
best of luck.

What is my wpa key for my ps3 what is it,it is for

The WPA key or WEP key you are looking for was entered by you or your service provider. You will have to look at the settings in the router to find it, usually under wireless configuration or wireless security settings in the router itself if you don't remember what it was set to.

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If you want to make your connection secure by using a password you need to access the router settings page and change the security type. Follow the instruction below on how to make the connection secure.

If you want to setup a password or security on your router you need to access the Wireless Settings Page. To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.0.1, the Default username is admin and the password is blank. Go to Wireless Settings and under Wireless Security Mode select either WEP, WPA, WPA2 then create a personalize Passphrase. Passphrase serves as the password on the network to make it secure.

Thanks for using Fixya.

I am getting a great signal from my router but

Hello,
There are many reasons why this might be happening.. You could try the following steps..
1) Disconnect the power from router for a minute and reconnect and check. 2) Try changing the wireless channel and Network name and try re-connecting. 3) Check if there is an firmware update for your product and update if any update is available. 4) If none of the above steps work you will need to reset and re-config your router. ( For that you need the CD given with the router and you will need the ISP settings.)
Hope this helped

I move to a new location how do i reset my

D-Link Router reset

Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit.

Step 2 With the unit powered on, press and hold the Reset button.

Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds.

Step 4 Release the Reset button.

Step 5 The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting.

Step 6 The device is now at factory defaults.

Note: Do not recycle power during the reset procedure. The default user name for most D-Link devices is admin and the password is left blank. When it says hold for about 10 seconds, don't hold for more than ten seconds or the procedure will likely fail, if ten seconds doesn't work try 5 seconds.

Wireless Config. D-link

Access the management page from your browser. (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Etc.)

The address is: Default IP address: 192.168.0.1. Default admin username: admin

Password is left blank.

Click on the "Wireless Setup" link

Click the Enable Wireless box

? Enter your own network name (SSID) in the box

? Set Security Mode: = WPA-Personal

? Set WPA Mode: = Auto (WPA or WPA2)

? Enter your own Pre-Shared Key in the box - This should be a mixture of upper and lower case letters plus some numbers, the more complex the better. You will need to copy this key so that you can use it when setting up your wireless PC

? Click the Apply Settings button

The page should refresh after a few seconds, your router wireless security is now

Configured.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Wi-fi is 54mbps but should

This rangebooster G router is a 54mbps rating. You cannot get more than that unless you switch your entire network, including the antenna on each pc to a N network. Hope this explains it. Anyway, 54 million bits per second is more than enough. LAN speeds of 100 million bits per second are great only for file transfer and communication between computers within your network. Think about this...You internet connection is nowhere near 54 million bits per second...So, if your internet is, say, 12 million bits per second, which is smokin fast, your WIFI can only access the internet at the slowest bottleneck. It's only a fast as the slowest link. Rate this high if it helped you.

The wifi is going 54 mbps but should be 100 mbps

wireless speed depends upon the wireless card that is installed on your computer...

if your computer have a

802.11 b/g card, it will connect at 54 mbps speed (That is the maximum speed at which the wireless can connect to the router)...

802.11 n card, it will connect at 150+ mbps speed...
