DVD Capacity

These are the possibilities:
1. You are trying to copy a disc which is copy protected and hence it may not show the actual size of disc. Please don't do piracy. I personally recommend it(although most home users buy DVD writer for pirating disc for themselves).
2. The black DVD which you are using is not compatible to your DVD writer make sure your DVD writer is compatible with the disc. There are different technologies used for blank DVDs e.g. DVD+R, DVD-R etc.
3. You are using a bad media, which normally happens in case of low cost local Black DVD, available at the cost of dust.
4. IF you have a lens cleaner disc, try also that. It may help.

Which operating System are you using?Optical drives never require a driver other than what is included with Windows XP. Windows detects the drive the moment you switchon after connecting and configuring in BIOS.You may need a firmware or recording software update.I can only suggest you make sure your drive firmware is latest offered by the manufacturer/vendor and to insure your recording software is update and to make sure your recording media is quality rated or type/brand suggested by manufacturer.

Will not burn any dvds

Try upgrading the firmware.

2.) Try the drive on another computer to see if it works.

3.) if it does you might need to Format and Reinstall on your computer.

but it does sound as if the problem is with your drive rather than your pc if you got warrenty i'd suggest you take it back if not then try it on anoter computer to ensure its the drive before getting a new one

You will need to remove the drive from the chassis first. Then take a long slender probe and insert in the hole to release the media tray. Once the tray is extended you will be able to pry the face plate off by pressing the tabs that click it in place.

A question about Pioneer HTZ-170dvd Please Can I connect it to my laptop computer? If so can you explain how as I'm offered a new one to buy for a good price but I think its very old to run with a pc.

you want to play music or a film on the laptop and run it through the Pioneer HTZ-170DVD Region Free Home Theater System and through speakers? I don't see why not. You would use the audio out on the laptop and connect to the audio input on the Pioneer. If the laptop has HDMI, it is even easier. Here is the manual.

My pioneer pro 151fd TV won't play sound

  1. Check the volume level: Make sure that the volume on the TV is turned up and not muted. You can try increasing the volume level and see if that resolves the issue.
  2. Check the audio connections: Ensure that all the audio cables are properly connected to the TV and the external audio device (if you're using one). Check if the cables are damaged or loose, and try reconnecting them to make sure they're secure.
  3. Check the audio settings: Ensure that the TV is set to output audio through the correct device, whether it's an external soundbar or a home theater receiver. You may need to access the TV's audio settings to adjust this.
  4. Check the external audio device: If you're using an external audio device, ensure that it's properly connected and powered on. Try switching to a different audio input on the device and see if that resolves the issue.
  5. Reset the TV: You can try resetting the TV to its default settings to see if that fixes the issue. Refer to the TV's user manual for instructions on how to reset the TV.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a problem with the TV's internal audio components. In this case, you may need to contact Pioneer customer support

I have a Pioneer PDR 609 CD recorder. I put a disc in and it says Pro disc din unlock.

You can only use Music CD-R with the logo of Digital Audio, no regular CD-R for data will not work with any CD Recordable, it doesn't matter the brand of CDs. Remember that, I have a player like your and Sony, and that's the catch. img_20220709_151800-2gxg1vrum2d2535dgvugpjfk-d-0.jpg
