To make it region free

Once a DVD player has been assigned a region, it cannot be undone. You can change regions (generally 5 times) before it locks on the current region, but to have a region-free DVD player again, you need to buy a new device.

My external hard drive got a virus had to reformat now computer wont recognize it

I am taking for granted that you are using Windows, not sure which version ( XP , 7, 8 , 8.1 ) and if I am correct, but your computer does not recognize the drive, make sure the usb port is one that will give power to the external drive. You should use USB2 or if available USB3. Those are powered. Click the Search feature for the particular version of Windows you are running and search for "Disk Management" Look for the partition of the external drive you are using. It will be given a letter other than C: drive. May be D: E: F: etc etc etc. Sometimes your optic drive is the D: drive, you may need to purchase a program like Everest Ultimate to locate ALL your items on the MOBO. If your able to find the External in Disk Management, you should be able to format it, rename it, change its functions, etc etc. Good Luck

My toshiba micro usb 3.0 keeps ejecting by itself

Sounds like an issue with either dirty USB contacts, or power supply sockets in your computer.Test the USB on another device. If it works, you might want to take your computer in for a diagnosis.

I HAVE ROCO HDD FROM

The HDD is damaged due to bad sector. It has to be replaced, even in service center they will not service the HDD. They will send for replacement to head office. Every HDD comes with a minimum of 2,3 or 5 Years warranty, you can get it replaced. But you cannot recover data from it.. If you try to recover data by giving to any local service center it will void your warranty.

My computer do not recognize

Dose it show up as drive letter E:/ under device manager in disk drives?(Check out:right clicking my computer icon on your desktop, select disk manager)
If so,try right clicking on my computer and selecting map network drive.(You'll get the same results by right clicking on network neighborhood icon on your desktop and selecting map network drive.)This is the method many people use to assign a drive name (i.e.,letter) to a drive. Then you can recover data from external hard drive with data recovery software like Tenorshare Data Recovery. It can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data. You can get it here: http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product/datarecoveryprofessional.htm

MY EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE KEEPS SUTTING OFF. WHY IS

Check your powersaving settings in windows. Most external devices will be automatically set to conserve power when not in use. An external hard drive is considered not in use when you are not actively accessing data on that drive.

How do you unlock the hard drive. I used it on my

The windows PCs and MACs have different file system. That's why your MAC cannot recognize your hard drive.
In this case, you need to reformat it. there are a couple of possible solutions:
1. you can reformat the drive into FAT32 which should be readable for both windows and mac.
1a. as soon as you reformat it into fat32, you can use the Disk Utility on the mac to make 2 partitions and format one in NTFS (windows) and the other one in HFS+ (MAC).
2. you can buy a sofware called MacDrive and use that.
OR
3. you can use MacFuse, which is a recently developed free software that lets your MAC read windows drives.

good luck.

I have a Toshiba 120GB

Hello,

This is bad news, but you may be able to recover it. It is possible your external drive controller is bad. Try taking the hard drive out and plug it into your computer via the hard drive connectors in the case (if you are using a PC and not a laptop) Try to access it this way.

You could also try connecting it into other USB ports. Sometimes this is all you need to do.

If both the options above are no go, then you may try something a bit more advanced. Windows is terrible at repairing hard drive issues and reading hard drives that are somewhat "messed up". If you download a linux distro ISO to your PC and burn it to disk, you can try accessing the removable from there and repairing it or if accessible, copy all the data off onto another drive. Download ubuntu and burn the ISO with a program such as imgburn. Reboot your PC and select the CD to boot instead of the hard drive. Once Ubuntu loads, press try now, which will allow you to go into Linux without installing it. Now connect your external drive and see if it pops up. If it does, you are in luck and should be able to click into its file system and copy your important files to your PC hard drive or to another external drive. I have had personal luck with this when memory cards, SD cards, and external drives gave errors on windows and were inaccessible. I was able to copy the data using ubuntu.

If none of the suggestions work, you may have a head crash or board crash in the hard drive itself. This can be unrecoverable, but if it is you will have to take your chances by sending it to a hard drive data recovery service center and be prepaired to pay $300-$1000 to extract the data.

Regards,
Chris
