Why did it overheat? In cases where a CPU has overheated, it more likely you will need a new CPU. If you can get one. Does the fan run? Is there dust in or around the heatsink? check all leads from motherboard to hard drive including electrical extensions and all of your cd/dvd drives make sure connections are secure dust free and not faulty computers need all power and data to travel through every working device and to finish its cycle so any faulty lead will end in computer error or shutdown or fail to boot make sure your computers RAM modules are securely seated with no dust in the sockets also the Cmos battery has charge and seated with no dust in the sockets some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in might be getting hot check your CPU make sure it has a thermal paste and a dust free and secure seating hope it helps

Actually, according to the technical specs the PCI-E slot is revision 1.0. This is a discontinued board and has been around a while.

Double check the power connection to the hard drive. Also, try a different power connector.
Then try just the hard drive without the CD plugged in.
I've seen systems not boot if the CD has a problem.
I don't know if you have an add-on video card, but if you do, be sure it's seated firmly. This, too, will prevent a boot.

uninstall and reinstall the driver. If you need to know how I will need to know more info about your operating system.

Do you have the original drivers? do you know what sound hardware you have( check the system in the control panel) Or if you need it immediately, use a generic windows driver( when it asks you what driver you want to update to, choose from the list; it will show some generic driver) question. do you have a PC runnig windows, apple, linux, solaris? is it an internal sound card, or you upgraded it ? if you did upgraded it, you need to get into your bios, and choose the option to disable the internal sound card( usually it tels you when you boot, it say press "xxxxx" for BIOS. be careful what you do in there. hope this works, otherwise, clarify some more.

Hi T, you know you can not run two different types (Speeds) of memory at the same time? Please re-check page 14 in your manual. Make sure your current memory timing for 667MHz is set to 5-5-5. Lost display, incert your old memory & reset the cmos jumper page 52 in your manual.
