Hello you have to enter the bios option to change the bootup settings.Press the DEL or F2 button to enter the bios.Next select the boot option, and make the DVD drive as first boot device, harddrive second.Leave the bios by saving the settings you just made.Place the windows disc in the dvd drive, and reboot. The screen turns black, and a small text comes on top:Press any key to boot from disk, use the space button. Now the installation will start.Remember to format the harddrive, when prompt. The drivers can be downloaded here:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+945+Express+Chipset+Family+Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Desktop+Board+D945GCCRBest of luck

Add a USB PCI card. If the USB ports are not working, you have a problem with part of a chip on the motherboard. It is not viable to replace.
Can't setup OS in SATA HDD in Intel d945gccr
Hi.XP will not install until you go into the BIOS and find the menu page (probably by moving across the top level of tabs)
where the SATA hard drives are configured. On that page you will see the
ports and at least one, maybe all, will be Enabled. Close to that will
be the port mode, usually setable individually for each port. Choices
may include IDE (or PATA) Emulation, SATA, AHCI. Set your port
to IDE emulation. Now look at the bottom for the
key to Save and Exit - often the F10 key, press that key and select OK, the computer will restart and you should now be able to install Windows XP without any problems. To get into the BIOS you have to press the Del or Esc key when you first turn the computer on.Regards.
