Bios password

This sounds like your motherboard battery needs to be replaced. I assume you had a password setup and previously never had to change it but now it's on every startup.Should be relatvely simple to replace as most are simply button type cells but would need information on the laptop to advise further.Regards

If the battery is not charging,it can be that the battery itself works properly, but the system doesn't indicate that the battery is charging. in order to fix this problem, you will need to reinstall the battery management software by using Device Manager1.Open Device ManagerRight click on My Computer->select Properties->click Hardware tab->click Device Manageror if you're using Vista or windows 7,type "device" on the Start menu and select Device Manager2.Expand the Batteries category3.Under the Batteries category, right-click the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listing, and select Uninstall .WARNING: Do not remove the Microsoft AC Adapter driver or any other ACPI compliant driver.4. HP nx6325 battery

Take the battery out, plug in the charger and see if the laptop works.

If it works, the battery may be the problem.

Check the AC AdapterCheck to make sure the adapter is plugged securely into the wall outlet, connected firmly to the adapter box and to the back of your laptop.

Most AC adapters have a little light in them on that rectangular box in the middle of the cord that lights up when it's getting electricity.

If that light isn't on, try a different outlet. Check your fuse or circuit breaker box and plug a different device into that outlet to make sure there is power to it. If it still does not light up, your adapter could need replacing.

Also check the adapter box for signs of warmth, as it will generate heat when it's plugged in. No heat means no power.Remove the BatterySometimes it's as simple as a seated battery.

Remove the battery entirely and clean out any dust, lint or hair that may be clogging the connectors and preventing a proper connection.

Reseat the battery securely and make sure the little locking pins that hold your battery in place are securely fastened and there is no movement.

hope this helps

I get a disk read erroroccurred after I have installed a new hard disk. How can I get my computer going again?

The problem is that XP installation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on a disk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then, XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP. The FIX. Go into the BIOS and disable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is a IDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows has been installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver), then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

I dont have wireless conection or icon how do i fix it

Make sure the wireless switch is turned on. Look on both sides of the computer and in front for the wireless switch. Once the wireless switch is turned on you can use keystrokes to toggle it on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. Th correct F1 thru F12 key will have the icon of a wireless signal )))) on it. It could also have the icon of a tower with the wireless signal )))). When you hit the correct key notice the screen and it might diisplay Wireless On or Wireless Off.

Which webcam should i buy to use on my nx6325? all the newer ones seem to lag as the graphics card looks too old for them?

You could get better performance with more RAM, but since the laptop is old I suggest you put your money towards a new laptop. You could remove the hard drive from your old laptop and insert the hard drive into an USB hard drive adapter case and use it as an external USB hard drive for backups and file transfer.

Hi, I have a colleagues laptop here which seems

I believe that is a No Post issue.
Its not the hard drive because you said " and the HDD spins up, but it seems as though it doesn't reach POST" or else you 'll be getting errors associated with the hard drive
There are some laptops even though it has a RAM NO POST issue will not beep
" no display and no beeping at all "
For us to determine if this a Motherboard Issue we have to disconnect all parts that can be disconnected. Disconnect the hard drive, Memory (RAM), battery, if you have a Modem daugther card, Express card, PCMCIA Card.
Try Turning the computer on using the Power Adapter hooked up on the computer. If you are still getting issues Definetly that is a Motherboard have gone bad but we really need to check up other parts that are disconnected

If Motherboard is good you will be getting video but it will stop on the POST screen and you might be hearing beep sounds as well. That means that the Motherboard is fine. Put the parts that are disconnected and clean the metal contacts as well one at a time and try to isolate at what part that is bad

How do I open a Compaq nx6325 to clean the fan and

On the HP nx / nc Series laptops there is a small access panel fitted centrally on the underside of the laptop. Undo the sindle screw to the centre of this and inside is the memory expansion slot.
Remove two Slot / Torx head screws and put SAFELY to one side.
Turn the laptop over, open the lid. In between the Function keys are small slide clips. These retain the keyboard, slide the down towards the front edge of the laptop, the keyboard will now hinge up and forwards. It has a small ribbon cable this can be removed or there is enough slack to keep it connected.
Undo the two plated philips crosshead screws on the headsink, carefully remove the three pin plug and put the fan unit to one side.
The heatpipe and heatsink is the large copper unit and will often be covered with a layer of 'felt' thick accumulated dust and debris blocking the airflow!
To remove the heatsink, undo the four philips screws that clamp it onto the heatsink. On some models these screws are captive, on laptops with AMD processors these are loose, put to one side in a safe place.
The core of the processor gets hot and has a thin layer of thermal grease to maximise thermal conductivity to the copper heatsink.
I use a small cotton bud soaked in isopropryl alcohol. This quickly removes the residue grease and is fast evapourating.
Be carefull not to wipe the grease around, turn the cotton bud or q tip to remove it.
Remove as much of the dust as you can and with a paper towel and alcohol, wipe off any grease Preferably in a sink, wash the heatsink under running water.
Once you've rinsed out most of the muck, give it a good clean in some warm water with a bit of detergent in it.
Dry the heatsink with a bit of paper towel and if available use a can of canned air to blow out any water, or use a compressor with a blow gun to dry it off. Take care and use low pressure.
Apply a thin layer of arctic silver or other thermal compound to the die in the centre of the processor. It doesn't need a thick layer, just a thin even smear.
Slot the heatsink back in, cooling fins slide under the bezel first and then lower it onto the processor. The four fixing screws are best tightened up in this order from top left corner imagine they are numbered 1, 3 (top row)
and then 4,2 (bottom row)
This is a little like tightening the cylinder head bolts on a car.
Tighten 1, 2, 3 , 4. This way you are ensuring the heatsink is pressed down squarely onto the processor and doesn't rise up at an angle as may happen if you overtighten the screws at one end only.
Refit the fan unit and plug back in observing the mouldings on the plug correspond with those on the socket. Do not force this in, if it needs force it's the wrong way around!
Refit the keyboard and secure using the screws on the underside and refit panel.
Yer good to go.. swith your laptop on and now make yourself a cup of tea or enjoy your favourite beverage!
Your laptop will thank you for this with a longer life, less stress on components and should run happier too!
Thanks for reading this and happy computing!!
