I cannot install windows xp sp2 on my seagate

I would suggest you go to the seagate website and download and burn out their hard drive test. run the test from boot and see if it detects a bad hard drive after it runs

Seagate SATA 80GB Master Drive and Seagate IDE 80GB Salve Drive

Dear,

You have to make IDE drive as slave. For this put the jumper to slave in IDE drive. Possibility of CMOS battery is rare, but you can confirm it by checking your system time in BIOS. If system time is ok then there is no problem in CMOS battery and you need not to replace it.

Thanks,

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB Video Included. Humming, Wobbling

Brother,it is a firmware problem for seagate drives, the 7200.10 has a typical problem of firmware, once it currupt, then it cannot be detcted by the BIOS or PC ,or showing 0GB or less capacity when connected,so you can use some useful tools such as HD Doctor for Seagate to repair it,this problem is very common but less tool can deal with it till now.

I would like to know if i can put a Seagate

Hello,
The answer is yes, if your BIOS will support a 500 G/B drive.
If you were running a 5400 and want to jump up to a 7200 NO PROBLEM.
If your BIOS supports SATA1 and 2.
You may have to use Disk Manager to setup the drive before hand.

Example, I am running a ASUS high speed M/B at home which only supports SATA1 and does not support SATA 2 drives.
The Speed in which I wanted was 100mb/sec
I had to negotiate down to half that.
It is fast for a SATA but not SATA2 fast.

Good luck, Check the specs. on your laptop and see what it will handle.

Barracuda 7200.10 (how to make it slave)

If I remember correctly then you nee to REMOVE the jumper to have it as a slave drive. Otherwise the second from left (with power plug on the right) is usually the SLAVE position on those drives

Seagate barracuda 722.10 light flashing but hard

actually im fixing hardisk drive if you change the board it will work and spin. but the problem there is a serial protection of your disk and you cannot retrieve your files. now you have to troubleshoot the board. check fuse protect, rectifier diodes for 12v&5volts, and regulator.

How do i unlock or erase a seagate 500gig.7200.10 harddrive

You can simply reformat the drive. If you need to do a thorough erasing for security reasons you could use a tool like the norton utility called wipeinfo.

Harddrive is not detecting bios

get a hard drive kit that will connect it via usb or get a PCI card that will allow you to install the PCI card into a PCI slot and then attach the hard drive to the PCI card ( ensuring you select the correct PCI card ) ie if its a sata drive then get a sata PCI controller card and if its IDE then get an IDE PCI controller card.
Also check for motherboard updates for your computers motherboard and also check in the bios to ensure LBA is enabled and that its detecting the hard drive.

External Hard Drive Beeps and Doesn't Connect

You may consider this options but if you have no more options. This treat your hard drive as to be trash already.

Some do it this way, they swap the board of the harddrive with a good board with the same make, model, capacity, and board design, also its revision.

Hoping they can run it, only if the harddrive board that gets defective. But still sometimes will get some issue for it.

this hard drive is toast and sadly you are half the reason as you never, ever ever open or hit a hard drive.  There are data recovery firms however, they are very expensive.
