Samsung CLX-3160FN problem with faded black images/text only

Many of today's printers have a "toner save" option, which makes the black appear lighter, and I'm pretty sure this isn't your problem. However, I wanted to rule-out the obvious first, which is just a setting. If you're seeing the black lighter in vertical "stripes" or segments in your printing, then it's most likely due to a dirty toner cartridge (but you said you replaced it), or cleaning the LSU inside the unit (as it says in the owners manual).Just in case you don't have the manual handy, here's an online link to it:http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200611/20061122152910875_CLX-3160_English.pdfI hope this helps!

Samsung printer

My suggestion would be be to make sure that the printer is on level, flat ground that is a hard surface. Make sure everything is in the correct place, if you have to jam something in really hard you're probably doing it wrong. Make sure the software is set up completely on your computer for your printer and you should be good to go!

Transfer belt error

I called Samsung because my printer did the same thing. Try a hard reset, if that doesn't work you have to replace the transfer belt. hit Menu then # then 193 Black Start....you have to do this all in about 3 seconds. It will come up and say Select Country (USA) hit OK and then it is suppose to reset it. If it doesn't work the transfer belt has to be replaced. If you are under warranty they will send you this for FREE.....

I am out of warranty and have to pay $150 to get one.

Good Luck

Samsung clx-3160fn deve home sensor error

Dev. Home error can be fixed by stretching out a solenoid spring on the power cord side of the printer. The solenoid acts as a clutch to stop the spinning developer actuator at the right spot.

The problem is that the spring gets weak over time / the cogs round out over time and the solenoid finger is overcome by the spinning cogs, and resulting in selecting the wrong developer.

Open up the right side (power cord side) of the printer (take off top cover, then take off side cover). Then, find a solenoid (little metal square) that touches the white plastic vertical spur gear. Take the spring off the solenoid. Now, put the spring back on - only this time you will attach one anchor point to the middle of the spring as to pre-stretch the spring for more tension.
