I have a CLX-2160N and have just emptied my own waste toner container. (Disclaimer: not sure how toxic or environmentally friendly this is).
Emptied carefully and thoroughly (fine dust). Immersed in bowl of warm soapy water, and vigorous shaking to get nice and clean.
Shook all water out well, and dried off as much as possible. Reinstalled. Turned printer back on. Hey presto - seems happy.

Replace your USB cable with a good quality, thick USB cable that does not exceed 10ft. Let me know if the problem persists.

Check the drivers of your printer on the manufacturer's site whoever the manufacturer of your printer is. On the site go to download, select your printer type or printer model name or no.. and then click search for the respective drivers. To fix this error, you will need to replace the transfer belt and/or reset the transfer belt count on your printer. If you are happy the the print quality of the printer, then you can try to reset the transfer belt count and that will clear the error. Otherwise you need to get a replacement transfer belt and swap it out before resetting the count.

To remove your existing transfer belt, you need to open the front panel, and remove the imaging unit by pulling the green handle. The belt is located above the imaging unit. Pull the belt down to release and then pull it straight out of the machine. Take your new belt and slide the back into the machine and push the front of the belt up to lock in place. Then you need to reset the belt count.

To do this, follow the steps below.

1. Enter Tech Mode by pressing [MENU] [#] [1] [9] [3] [4]
2. If you do not see the Tech Mode menu press the menu button again. (You need to enter the key sequence quickly.)
3. Select Tech Menu
4. Select DataSetup
5. Arrow to Clear Counts and press OK
6. Enter Password 1934
7. Arrow to Transfer Belt and press OK.

Check for a Paper jamb

I've seen that with generic toners, usually they won't turn properly and the noise you hear is the gears grinding trying to turn them. If you remove the cover on the right you can see which one won't go and replace that toner, or if there's a generic refilled toner inside, replace it...

I had the same thing happen to me, it turned out the the power supply failed. It is located on the right side of the printer. There was a capacitor that blew. After replacing the capacitor the printer started up just fine. You will need to remove the right panel and replace the capacitor.
