hi travis, you din't mention what happened after you disconnected the main board. unplug and plug is not bypassing.to bypass the main board you have to keep it disconnected.if the back lights come on and stay on after main board disconnected, the main board is defective. good luck.

well check the back of ur remote and see if u can take it off and if u can check ur batteries to make sure they are not dead if they are dead change the batteries

If TV can be switched ON with its front panel controls, and not with the remote control; the fault should be with the remote control itself. If so, check the remote control for its infrared emission. Does not matter just use your connection cable from DVD player and identify the name of where you plug into and change source to there. Sometimes it will take a few seconds before dvd screen will pop up.
