A blown fuse is usually caused by a shorted regulator or a bridge rectifier circuit. Either way it is a problem in the primary power supply. A bad cord won't blow the fuse in the set, it will blow a circuit breaker in the house. A servicer usually would normally cover the inside of the set with a "few light slits in the AC cord". i had my power supply blow on mine within the first year took it in because i had extended warranty and they fixed it, only problem was finding a dealer in my area to fix it, then took over a week, because of customer support issues

As for the 10-20 secs ,tv turns off .......I have one of those ......Im still trying to fix mine, without buying a new board ,I will post results!

Watch some HD or other 16:9 programming. If you have pillarboxes on the sides it is likely that you are watching a 4:3 program that doesn't fit your TV's screen. When people upgrade from a "regular" TV to a "widescreen" model they changed the shape of the TV but didn't change the shape of 60+ years of TV programming, the only ways to force the "square peg" to fit the "rectangular hole" is to either chop off the top and bottom of the image or to stretch it. I highly recommend against either of these as "Stretch-O-Vision" is just wrong because it makes people look fat and turns car tires and other circles into short fat ovals.

IF YOU HAVE A SOLID BLACK LINE RUNNING VERTICALLY THEN YOU HAVE A FAULTY MATRIX INVERTER. IF CENTRAL THE MAIN VERTICAL INVERTER NEEDS CHANGED. LEFT = LEFT VERTICAL INVERTER RIGHT=RIGHT.........

This can happen for 2 reasons. One is that some TVs are equipped with a set up that will turn the set off if no input source is detected ( cable, antenna etc...) Check all connections. The most likely cause is the TIMER settings. Use your remote to access your menu, then TV settings, then into Timer (sleep timer). Set the sleep timer function to off ( or "0" on and "0" off) This should do it.

Firstly, connect your TV to a DVD player and observe if there will be any sound. If you don't still hear any sound after connecting it via a DVD player, then it means the problem is from the sound IC/sound chip of your TV. The lightening might have affected the sound which has made it defective.

You need to replace the sound IC/chip of your TV. But I don't know if this is what you can fix yourself. Maybe you should take it to a repairman to fix for you.

U have the skill?Test all those transformers on the power supply board,one is short it.That why ur fuse is blown all the time.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

more then likely none if you buy it new and as for assemble not to hard because your not putting the hole tv to together just the stand for it (a couple screws)
