Can I enter GPS coordinates into a gamin zumo 550

Turn on Zumo. Select WHERE TO. Depress ARROW DOWN beneath ROUTES icon. There, revealed, are 5 additional icons, one of which is COORDINATES. There are more different choices of ways to enter coordinates than you're likely to learn what they are in a lifetime.Happy motorcycling. Keep the shiny side up.Patrick

I can't reset my zumo 550

There seems to be a problem with the 550's. Review some methods on this thread and see if anything suggested helps, otherwise a return to Garmin might be in order. Sorry I couldn't help you better.http://www.fixya.com/support/t196108-garmin_c550_will_not_turn

When I turn my Garmin

Hi tkfranks331,

Press the power key and hold it if the screen of your Zumo is frozen. Keep holding the power key while pressing the key that has a plus symbol ("+") on it. This will reset your device and unfreeze the screen. You can also try calibrating the screen by pressing the power key for one full minute.

If this does not work, please follow these steps.

1. Update the internal disk software. Download and install WebUpdater on the computer. Please visit this link to download the WebUpdater.

2. Open WebUpdater on the computer.

3. Connect the Zumo 550 to the computer with its USB cable.

4. WebUpdater will automatically search for updates.

5. Follow the prompts to download any pertinent updates for the Zumo 550.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a Droid 2

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. The problem that your experiencing is caused by a bad mouth piece on the device. The mouth piece is the the device that allows people on the other end of the call hear you. I would like to know if you still have a warranty on the device because this is not a software issue but a hardware one. This also happens on other cellular phone.
Thanks

I have my garmin 550

If I were you, I would buy a cable and connect the unit to your pc and try updating the firmware/software first to see if that doesn't solve some or all of your issues. After updating, check the recall on the battery that has been released to make sure your unit is not one of those involved. If the battery is healthy, then try connecting the unit to the pc with the cable and click on their link for auto-repair options. Let their system diagnose your unit, and make plans based on what you find out from there.

You can contact customer service to purchase a cable or discuss repair options by calling any of the below stated numbers:

Canada: 1-866-429-9296

When I attempt to connect my computer to my garmin

Hello
Windows-7 won't recogonise most of the external devices like XP do. I've updated my system with Windos-7, and felt so many problems, and reverted back to XP itself. When I tried with Windows-7 CD with XP, and made a compactablilty check, which says that, all the external components, including USB stic, must be pluged in when you install Windows-7. In fact I don't feel smooth Win-7 as WinXP.
Your problem can't be rectifed unitl you revert back to XP again. Most of the older softwares are not compactable with this operating system as I feels.
Try your Gramin with an other computer running on XP SP3. OK.

My zumo 550 won't acquire

Hello,

The internal rechargeable battery in most electronic only has a life expectancy of about 3-4 years so it is common for then to die over time. It may be the same scenario with your GPS's antenna. You may be able to find a replacement battery for your GPS at a local battery outlet. But otherwise it may have to be sent in for warranty or repair.

Hope this helps!

I have a ZUmo 550 that has worked great. I use XM

Hello
In its oweners manual all are described how to use XM in chapter "Using XM Radio" . In that section all are desccibed including the process you have done now; and to save XM channels in the device. There is no chance to get all XM screen out. Some adjustment mistake will be there. If it is not, the XM receiving section inside your Gramin have some fault.
Just do one thing. Set the device to its Factroy defaults. The proceedings are given in it user manual. Anyway, I'll type it here for you.
[1] From the main page, touch [Tools]
[2] Touch "Restore" and then touch "yes". This restores all of your Zumo setting to factory defaults.
CLEARING ALL USER DATA
Caution: This deletes all the user entered information including favourites, routes, trip, logs, settings and recent finds.
To do this:
[1] Hold your finger on the lower-right of the Zumos' screen while "Turning ON" zumo.
[2] Keep your fingers pressed until the pop-up window appears.
[3] Touch "YES" to clear all user data
Then retune all you want to do with the device. If you haven't it user manual, send your email address to me by Fixya. I've the manual, and send it to by return mail. It is a large file, which I can't send to you by this site. OK

The touch screen is not

yes it can be replaced, quite cheaply too you just need to be very careful when removing the old one as it is glued to the lcd so there can be a risk of breaking the lcd. use a scalpel or craft blade to prise the touch screen up and gently score inbetween the two to remove it

My zumo 550 is still

Hello,

If you have traveled with the unit lately you may need to let it sit and acquire satellites for up to 20-30 minutes. Also your unit may need a firmware update. If none of these work try purchasing an external antenna this may fix your problem.

hope this helps!

HI I have Zumo 550

If your zumo 400 or 500 series will not power on, or performs strangely after powering up, follow the steps (described on the Garmin website) below to perform a soft reset:
  1. Connect the zumo to a power source such as a computer or AC outlet
  2. Hold the zoom (+) and ON buttons at the same time for five seconds
  3. If this does not restore power, remove the battery for five seconds
  4. Place the battery back in the zumo
The zumo will now power on. Because the battery may deplete while the zumo is locked up, it is ideal to leave the zumo connected to power to allow it time to charge.
Once the battery has charged, follow the steps on the Garmin site to update the operating software in the zumo. (just copy this link to get there https://buy.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId={8576ba20-e948-11dc-d6fc-000000000000} )

Good luck,
Michael
